Connected by Heart!

This was a wonderful stepbrother romance. Dante being forced to leave without a word to Colby was heartbreaking, but it set the stage for a such beautiful reunion. I loved that Colby never let go and he believed in Dante. When Dante comes back it is so touching. They have to figure themselves out again, but it is not tension and angst. It is just a stunning journey of rediscovery. These two were connected at the heart and the time apart did not change that. Dylan is a new narrator for me, and I thought his voice and his narration style really brought to life these two gentle souls. It is a soft, sweet and emotional listen.

This is a wonderful and emotional listen. Colby and Dante do not have an easy go of it, and the pain caused by Dante’s father keeping the two apart is heartbreaking. The narrator does an excellent job bringing this romance to life, a very engaging performance. What I really loved about this story is how dedicated Colby and Dante are to each other, even after 5 years apart. This has the feel of an epic love story, the emotions are big and the payoff absolutely beautiful.

First of all I read this book when it came out and absolutely loved it. So when I found out that it was going to come out on Audio I was all for it. I loved Colby and Dante. Even with being dealt a 💩 hand they didn’t let it stop them from moving forward in life.

From Step Brothers to best friends to lovers in high school, they had so many plans. Right before graduation Dante disappeared and it breaks both of them in there own way.

You have Colby the sweet guy who always saw more to Dante then what others saw. He wanted to go to college with Dante and be together forever. Then you have Dante who would do anything to make Colby happy. Something happens a week before graduation and Colby doesn’t see Dante again. He is told Dante ran away, but of course we all know better.

5 years later Dante comes back to his home town to get his best friend back and hopefully his boyfriend back. So much has happened that Dante wants to tell Colby but to protect him he ask Colby to give him time and things will be explained.

My heart broke for them so much. I even wanted to throat 🤛🏼 one parent multiple times throughout the book. R.M. Neill truly wrote an amazing book. If you have not read or listened to Colby, you are missing out.

Now on to the narrator. This is actually Dylan’s first narration and he absolutely did an amazing job. He really brought Colby & Dante to life for me. I enjoyed listening to his voice. I can’t wait to listen to Blaze when it releases.

Colby and Dante are so adorable and romantic. I felt bad for everything they both went through in order to get back to each other but no matter what was thrown at them, their love proved to be stronger. I have fallen in love with this found family and can not wait for more from The Broken Horn Ranch.

Dylan Rockwell did an amazing job for his romance narration debut. He has you feeling like you are a character in the story and feeling every emotion they are also feeling. I can not wait for more audiobooks by him.

This book was a pain to read. I would label it as middle school level. Every embarrassing moment you can have as a pre teen is in this book. At first I thought the narrator was the problem but the book has to be that bad to have even the narrator couldn’t fix it. The fact that this has good reviews is troubling. Definitely returning this book.
