Stand-up comedy helped me find myself in business. It enabled me to break free of living outside of my heart and soul. It also helped me find my voice, be present, and stop doing things for reasons other than experiencing joy and fulfillment. The purpose of this audiobook, therefore, is to provide those same lessons to you so you can say what you want, feel what you want, and do what you want to be the person you want to be. And yes, without getting fired.

You know when people use sports analogies to describe a business situation - “par for the course”, “here’s the game plan”, or “dude, you just bit my ear off”? Clearly, you don’t need to be good at golf, football, or cannibalism to understand and use them. Likewise, you don’t need to be any kind of comedian, stand-up or otherwise, to get value from this audiobook.

busi-ness: A person's regular occupation, profession, or trade, which, if left unchecked without fun, can lead to your soul being sucked dry and consequently morphing you into the equivalent of a stale Ritz cracker but, you know, without all the “cheddah”.

com-e-dy: The study of professional entertainment or amusement, consisting of jokes and satirical sketches, intended to make an audience laugh, and historically occupied by food service workers and the unemployed.

Com-e-di-ol-o-gy: Applying successful comedic techniques, traditionally used to amuse, entertain, or make an audience laugh, to your regular occupation, profession, or trade to enhance your daily effectiveness, fulfillment, and joy.

Great read and fresh take!

This is such a welcomed change from the typical boring management book. I have read dozens, maybe hundreds of management and business books and the fresh and funny perspective is great! I read it in a day and left uplifted. A definite book to check out! I will be applying it to my consulting practice and will recommend it to the executives I coach.

Practical Advice and Laughing Out Loud

Chris' narration makes this "improvement in the work place" book enjoyable- which says a lot because most books in this genre are only tolerable. The storytelling and sharp wit makes you feel like you know him as a dear friend as he gives practical advice for not only the workplace environment, but also applicable to everyday interactions. Very well done and had me laughing out loud!

Great Book!

Comedy books are entertaining but aren’t applicable for business. Business books are helpful for your career but often lack entertainment value. This book brings those worlds together...fun read with solid advice, nicely done!

Learn and Laugh

Great book narrated by the author. A fresh look at being authentic to our true self. The author is really open and honest in sharing his real life experiences. Loved it!

Funny, Entertaining, AND Meaningful!

This book exceeded my expectations. I have only listened to a few audiobooks because I thought I preferred reading them. This book changed that belief. It MUST be listened to, as Chris Tabish is a legitimate comedian. I was laughing so hard the tears were flowing. The book certainly has a message too. I've been taking it to heart and trying not to take myself too seriously and have more fun. Get this book and LISTEN.

Loved this book and the spirit it was written with! Chris nailed it and made me laugh so much! He is a very gifted author and is so in touch with the core of what we all go through. Authentic, funny and a must read for all!

There exists a mistaken belief in today’s corporate world that we have to be serious all the time in order to be taken seriously. Humor can be one of the most powerful tools we have for accomplishing serious things. This book mergers both worlds of comedy and corporate in a perfect and helpful balance. The chapter recaps are helpful and the stories are engaging.

Definately worth your time!

Not often you find a book that is both entertaining and insightful, but this delivers both. Comediology is extremely enjoyable to get through, funny and offered valuable techniques for how I can improve my work life with comedy. Outside of work I consider myself a pretty funny person, but at work I’m usually pretty formal. I have already used several skills from the book with very good results. An example was the day after I read the chapter on vulnerability. During a meeting with some of my companies executives they were questioning me about a project that did not go well, and most of the issues were my responsibility. My old ways would have me respond to their concerns with a serious tone, defend why it was not as bad as it may appear and layout how I was going to make it all better. Instead, I used what I just read and became vulnerable, making a self-deprecating joke. Quite frankly I was surprised how much they laughed…or even that they laughed at all. It completely diffused the situation and then I spelled out my plan to address their concerns. This book will provide personal insights to anyone who reads it and entertain you during the process.
