Acerca de esta escucha

Mind Control in the United States?

Hard to believe? The series Conspiracy Fact Declassified is back again to prove it happened.

Through declassified documents and various other sources, we further explore human experimentation. This time we zoom in specifically on mind control and the top-secret government projects that examined this realm.

We name the names.

This compelling book is sourced throughout. You'll find out about how the US ferried Nazi scientists into the country after World War II and how that single operation became the catalyst for the creation of multiple experimental projects. You'll find out how those projects sourced more than 88 institutions nationwide to perform mind control experiments on unwitting citizens.

You will hear from survivors.

As usual with Kate Marcello, you'll get that resource-packed addendum at the end of the book with more information to explore. This time we couldn't fit everything in this section of the book, so you will also get access to a massive supplement file containing all of the declassified documents pertaining to MKULTRA. In addition, it's packed with other documents pertaining to the author's research on MKULTRA.

MKULTRA facts vs conspiracy

MKULTRA is a real thing that is the code name given to a program of experiments on human subjects that were designed and undertaken by the United States Central Intelligence Agency—and which were illegal at times. It ran from 1953 to 1973 and involved the use of drugs and other illegal techniques that had questionable results. I found this to be a nice little synopsis of the project. It is succinct and informative.

I really enjoyed Gilbert's narration. She is a pleasure to listen to, even when she is talking about brain washing people. She plays this very strait, and keeps an informative attitude, and delivers all the information as if she were performing a debriefing in Washington.

Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Short intro to MKUltra and other CIA atrocities.

While the book is good insofar as introducing various projects uncovered regarding CIA activities that are beyond reprehensible it is extremely thin. The primary reason I was dissatisfied is that Audible version has none of the references which are much more detailed and comprise many times the content of the book. If the files were included I would have rated this much higher but without them it is just a skeleton of very short chapters with few details as they are in the reference material. The author did a good job but for reasons listed above this audio version isn't worth it.
