Resumen del Editor

THE GREAT I AM BIBLE STORY SERIES FOR KIDS (VOLUME 2)

A lot of different things happened during the time the Bible was written. If everything that happened had been written down, the biggest house in the world would not hold all the books.

That’s why it can be great fun to imagine how things might have been that did not get written down. While each of the six books in The Great I AM Bible Story Series for Kids is faithfully based on true events recorded in the Bible, our stories are imagination stories, allowing a peek over the shoulders of those who might have been there. Imagine being a bird or a stone, or even a young boy or girl—just like you—who was there and saw God at work in and through His people.

CONSUMING FIRE (VOLUME 2 OF THE GREAT I AM BIBLE STORY SERIES FOR KIDS)

In CONSUMING FIRE—Volume 2 of the Great I AM Bible Story Series for Kids—enjoy reading five awe-inspiring stories.

STORMY: The little donkey colt was wild, maybe even more than wild. No one could tame or ride him... until the day when a very special rider changed everything. Imagine being the boy who owned this colt. (Based on Mark 11).

FIRE FROM HEAVEN: We’ve all seen lightning flash through the sky like fire. But seeing a real fire come down from the sky because someone asked God to send it is a whole other story... something like this one! (Based on I Kings 17-18).

THE RIGHT SHOE TELLS HIS SIDE: Shoes have a tough job. They are made for walking, and usually, they let their walking do their talking. But every so often they share a great story—like this one! (Based on Joshua 3-5).

STRANGE WEAPONS: After powerful enemies chased Leah and her family from their home, they had to live and hide in a cave! But God raised up a mighty warrior who used very strange weapons to save them all. (Based Judges Ch 6-8).

THE OIL THAT MULTIPLIED: Multiplying is an interesting thing. Some people say kittens multiply, but I wouldn’t know about that. I do know about some oil that multiplied and saved two boys from becoming slaves. (Based on II Kings 4).

WELL-KNOWN BIBLE STORIES AS TOLD BY BOYS & GIRLS (OR EVEN STONES OR BIRDS) WHO WERE THERE!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Joann Klusmeyer was born in the mountains of Arkansas during the height of the Great Depression into the family of a pioneer minister. She was attracted to pencils and paper from the time she learned not to poke pencils in her eyes, and that paper did not taste particularly good.

Books became the avenue that would transport her into another life, and she read and re-read the few that were available until they were limp scraps. It was about then that stories began to develop within her own imagination, along with simple rhyming verses.

Her father’s occupation as a minister, by necessity, put her in church several times a week. There was the small country church that her father built and pastored, and in that way she met a lot of people on a regular basis and came to appreciate the hard-working settlers who pioneered the land in America’s Midwest. Her stories reflect the lives and attitudes of those of her childhood that she remembers best welded together with a bit of imagination.

Joann Klusmeyer is a prolific author with over 50 titles to her credit (and counting).
