Resumen del Editor

“Killing Yakima” Synopsis
Sharon Louise Burch:
Sharon was born in Yakima to teenage parents in 1948. Because of the parents young age, they decided to turn their newborn daughter over to the State of Washington for adoption. Sharon was adopted by a local couple who lived in Wiley City, just a few miles from Yakima. In 1953, when Sharon was 5 years old, she died in a housefire that was thought to be accidental. Seven years later, however, it was learned the fire was purposefully set. The retired detective that investigated this case wants Sharon’s story told.

Lawrence Jay Riegel:
Larry Riegel, a pilot on medical leave, disappeared in mysterious circumstances on Christmas Day 2009. His live-in girlfriend’s actions and changing stories brought suspicion upon herself as he remained missing. Larry is a member of a large family, and he has many friends who, after 15 years, unfortunately believe he is no longer living. Follow the investigations by several detectives of the Yakima Police Department in Larry’s story and see where it’s headed recently. With renewed interest and information, the possibility of finding Larry’s hidden grave increases, along with the arrest of a suspect.

Ryan Glenn Moore:
In an attempt to bring some consolation to the parents of a suicide victim, the author agreed to look into the circumstances of their adult son’s death and dispel hurtful rumors. What was discovered in research was that the rumors had some thread of truth, along with a previously unknown, horrifying conclusion to Ryan’s life.

Sara Luz Bustos:
Sara was a pretty, naive, cocaine addicted 21-year-old, living in a dysfunctional environment on the east side of Yakima, Washington. In order to maintain her addiction, she traded her attention to male suitors for access to the drug. One boyfriend was into the drug scene, and another was a Yakima police officer. Sara had no idea how dangerous a game she was playing when she offered to provide information about her former boyfriend’s drug dealing to her new police officer lover. Unfortunately, Sara was soon found face down in the Yakima River with a rock stuffed in her mouth. The policeman, on his day-off, mysteriously showed up uninvited at the body recovery site. He entered the crime scene, viewed the corpse of his lover, and kept her identity and his intimate relationship with her from investigating detectives. Sara’s handwritten diary, discovered months later, however, revealed the true details of their romance prior to her murder. Consequently, the Yakima Police Department’s homicide investigation was compromised due to a major conflict of interest. Read about how Sara’s killing, after nearly 25 years still awaits justice.
