Resumen del Editor

Hell Up Above

Special agent Jericho Quinn is a wanted man. Suspected of murder and marked for death by a network of conspirators embedded in the White House, Quinn knows he has to get out of the country--fast--before a team of contract killers find him and his daughter. To set things right at home, he'll have to take a nonstop flight from Anchorage, Alaska, to Vladivostok, Russia, aboard a massive Airbus A380. But soon after takeoff, it becomes apparent that Quinn and his daughter picked the wrong plane. First a passenger is brutally murdered. Then Quinn is mistaken for a terrorist by an off-duty air marshal.

As panic spreads through the plane and pressure builds to the screaming point, the unthinkable happens. Someone triggers a bomb.... Spoiler alert: This plane is in big trouble.

Great action novel that deserves 5 stars, but...

I am down rating Day Zero i star because of lack of closure. I knew when I started the Clifton Chronicles series by Jeremy Archer and the Project Eden series by Brett Battles that each book except the last one would end with major unresolved issues leaving closure for the last books in the two series. Having listened to earlier books in the Jericho Quinn I was expecting Day Zero to end with closure. It did not, so I feel misled.

This series started with National Security which is a great story but the second and third books (Act of Terror and State of Emergency) were major disappointments, so I skipped Time of Attack. I purchased Day Zero at a steeply discounted price and am pleased that it is as good as National Security which is outstanding.

Tim Weiner does an excellent job of narration.

Another Great Read!

If you enjoy Jericho Quinn, then you will enjoy this story also. He and his friends do the right thing once again. We could use them here in the real USA.

The Quinn books are spectacular

Would you consider the audio edition of Day Zero to be better than the print version?

The reader of the book can create a feeling of fear, suspense and intrigue that reading it privately alone just doesn't get.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Quinn, of course. He is one bad a$$ agent who will do anything to protect his little girl and the mother of his child.

Which character – as performed by Tom Weiner – was your favorite?

Quinn is my favorite character that is performed by Tom Weiner.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me think about all of the agents and double agents we can have in the government. I think we tend to be naive until our eyes are open by books like this.

Any additional comments?

I plan on reading all of the Quinn books in time. They are that good.

Cameron gets better with each story

Cameron gets better with each story and it seems as he is getting into the ranks of Thor and Taylor and Coes

Loose Ends!

I enjoy all the books in the series but it would be nice if we could get some closure on a lot of issues, especially the Jeronica/Kim deal. It's time for Kim to move on and stop whining.

Jericho Quinn series is one of the best...

Audiobook Review – Normally, I prefer reading hardcover books, but when a desired read doesn’t come in hardcover, if available, I listen to it via audiobook. And most, if not all the Jericho Quinn series by one of my favorite authors, Marc Cameron, I’ve listened to on audiobooks. “Day Zero,” Book 5 in the series is no exception. In this high-octane action story, Special Agent Jericho Quinn is a wanted man. Suspected of murder and marked for death by a network of conspirators embedded in the White House, Quinn quickly leaves the country before a team of contract killers find him and his daughter. And thus, the thrill ride excitement begins when Quinn and his young daughter board a massive A380 Airbus from Anchorage, Alaska to Viadivostok, Russia in their exaggerated departure. The book is a continuation of the previous story, “Time of Attack.” This Jericho Quinn novel is an adventure ride with many creative twist-and-turns that I’ve come to expect and appreciate from author Marc Cameron. Cameron not only gets the details in the story right, but his characters also have a depth that few other authors can match. Main character Jericho Quinn is a Mitch Rapp (Vince Flynn) Jason Bourne (Robert Ludlum) and Jack Reacher (Lee Child) type all rowed up into one. He’s the self-denigrating good-guy-tough-guy, who loves motorcycles, and cool knives and the “secret agent” operator that the government calls in the event of an apocalyptic threat. Quinn and his team are the go-to characters for the Director of National Intelligence. The Jericho Quinn stories are complex and are a myriad of unrelated events that are intermingled into a satisfactory conclusion. Each novel can stand-alone, but characters move through each book to the next. Some have a very distinct cliffhanging ending prompting readers to move on to the next book and that’s exactly what I did and will continue to do with this series. In my opinion, the Jericho Quinn series by author Marc Cameron is one of the better action-adventure series in the thriller genre. Strong character development, plenty of action and captivating plotlines makes it so and the narrator, for this audiobook, Tom Wiener was outstanding.
