He returns to the KT Ranch never mentioning what happened. But when he learns the con man is back and hanging out with the June gang, he decides it's time to get his money back and even the score.
Always a fighting man, both for the US Army and in battles across the ocean, Tom Kedrick in "Showdown Trail" has been hired to help run off the squatters and outlaws occupying a strip of land claimed to be unusable swamp. When he learns that he is being misled by his new bosses and that the squatters are honest and hardworking settlers, including one of his father's old friends, he has to determine which side he will fight for.

This is a compilation of three stories.
When you read this, it may sound confusing o you. Why? First, this book was purchased in the middle of the night. I listen with headphones o as to create a quiettmosphere
Or so they say. I got rather confused, and truly didn’t know these were 3 separate short stories. Funny thing was that I felt the second one would wrap back around to the Dead Ringer. Finally, it came to me that this was a separate story. It took going back and rereading the end of Dead Ringer. Only then I realized it was 2 books! Why 2? Because I couldn’t see the break between 2 and 3!

Wonderful and Rich Western
L'Amour has a fantastic technique to tell a story. His characters are described quick and upright. The events move forward to keep you engaged. I love how horses are described just as importantly as those who ride them. This is an enjoyable story narrated by a wonderful voice. Thanks for taking me on the adventure!
