Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) wurde in Salzburg geboren. Das musikalische Wunderkind spielte bereits mit vier Jahren Klavier und Violine und absolvierte mit Vater und Schwester europaweite Konzertreisen. Unablässig komponierte er und schuf binnen weniger Lebensjahre ein Gesamtwerk von einzigartiger Schönheit.
Der schmutzige und glücklose Kohlenbrenner Peter hat drei Wünsche beim gütigen Glasmännlein frei. Doch das geschenkte Geld verprasst er, so bleibt ihm als Ausweg nur ein teuflischer Pakt mit dem finsteren Holländermichel.
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) war ein deutscher Komponist und Klaviervirtuose. Ein Gehörleiden ließ ihn über die Jahre hinweg taub werden. Dennoch komponierte er zahlreiche Lieder, Klavierkonzerte und Sinfonien. Seine 9. Sinfonie mit der "Ode an die Freude" von Friedrich Schiller ist sein weltweit berühmtestes Werk.
