Did You Know?
- Even though one pound of feathers and one pound of lead are known to have the same weights, it was said that lead felt heavier when people tested it.
- The color of the medications we take can subconsciously influence how we believe they will work. Even if the pills are nothing more than a placebo, the colors scheme fools our brain and body into thinking we've taken anything active. And, that, my friend, is how we are fooled by science.
- Typically, when female dogs poop, they automatically arrange themselves to face either north or south. They act this way because they are sensitive to the magnetic field of the Earth.
- Water has a triple point. Or, to put it another way, it may both freeze and boil at the same time. When the temperature and pressure are just right, the three phases of a substance (gas, liquid, and solid) coexist in thermodynamic equilibrium.
