Time Travel Historical Romance

I have long been a fan of historical fiction and do enjoy stories that feature time travel as well. The story is intriguing and I enjoyed how it touched on what would have been a taboo relationship back in the 1800s. I look forward to the next release and the continuation of the storyline.

Like a previous reviewer, I thought the narrator was ok but would have preferred a female narrator for the book. That being said, I rarely have time to physically read a book anymore so will continue the next story on audio once it comes available.

Excellent but won't continue series on audio.

I love this book. The writing brings so much to light about the time of slavery and how people were treated. Tears came to my eyes so many times. I was hooked in the first chapter and couldn't stop. There are a few research errors and plot holes, but the author is very talented and I will definitely continue the series, just not on audio.

I did not really enjoy the narrator. He did a very good job and has a nice voice to listen to, I just couldn't jive with him in this story. I think I would feel like that with any male narrator with a historical fiction like this. As a personal preference I think I would have enjoyed it more with a feminine voice.

I still give this 4 stars. I'm looking forward to the next books in the series.

The plot twists within the story

I love how Rose met her soul mate and the twist that came along with it. I wondered how a modern day woman was able to fall in love with a black man living in the Civil War times. The ending was magnificent. The narrator did a wonderful job and was able to use unique voices for each character. I knew who was talking just by the voice that was used! There was not anything about the book I didn't like. I am looking forward to the sequel story!

Good story.

I e joyed this story. I thought the controversial topic was well done. I'm interested to read the next one. My only complaint was a few expressions that I didn't care for and not what I like to read. Otherwise I enjoyed it.
