Young detective, Annie Tillery, wins a series of art lessons at a prestigious art gallery, plunging her into the New York City art world and a brutal murder mystery. At the gallery, Annie discovers her instructor, Francesca Gabrielli, engaged in a volatile argument with John DiCristiani, the gallery's director. He demands that Francesca make forgeries of masterpieces for him. When the gallery director is found murdered in cold blood, Francesca becomes the prime suspect and calls upon Annie to help solve the crime and clear her name.
As Annie and her NYPD detective aunt, Jill Tillery, brave the dangers of an international art fraud ring in an attempt to find the murderer, they realize that the key to solving the case lies hidden in a mysterious brownstone in Brooklyn, whose inhabitants present tantalizing and elusive clues. As Annie and company attempt to stay one step ahead of DiCristiani's murderer, they manage to escape one deadly trap after another. Good mystery story
I listened to the audiobook version and really disliked the narrator. The story was a good mystery with several plots all going at the same time. The reader gets all the plots tied up by the end of the story. Likable characters and decent writing style. It would have been more enjoyable with a different narrator.

She wanted art lessons, but not the one she got.
Winning lessons at a prestigious art school seems like a dream come true for Annie. But then she realizes that the copies of old master works she was instructed to make are being sold as
valuable originals. Her instructor is making a lot of money from it and when police are called to investigate a murder at the art gallery, she looks like an art forger.
This was a pleasant, though predictable mystery. No racy stuff or bad language. The narration was good, too. This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it enough to look for more from her.
