HEGEMON IN THE MAKING is the first part of the account of the hegemons that shaped the Western World, a thousand-year story per se about ancient Rome and the nature of its world. Equally thrilling is the spotlight on some of the heroic Barbarian characters who contributed to Rome’s demise such as Attila the Hun, the Gothic leaders Fritigern, Alaric, and Theodoric, as well as the Frankish kings Theudemer, Chlodio and Merovech, all of whom paved the way for the establishment of Germanic kingdoms on what was the Western half of the Roman Empire, and provided us with a better understanding of the Roman world, the Germanic domination that followed the empire’s collapse in the West, and of that era and area of classical antiquity.
