Leading the field of artificial intelligence, Halfway, a subsidiary of Soul-Tech, provides customers with the opportunity to digitally upload their minds so that in the eventuality of their death, loved ones will be able to communicate with an AI simulation and gain closure. But at what cost?
A year after her brother Mark’s death, Florence is still consumed by grief. And though her parents encourage her not to dwell on the past, Florence decides to visit Halfway and speak to the simulation of Mark that was created not long before his passing. But instead of putting her mind at ease, speaking with the replica of her brother only unleashes destabilising questions and opens old wounds. Why are Mark’s uploaded memories different from Florence’s? Why are the circumstances surrounding Mark’s death becoming less clear? And what does Halfway have to hide?

Scary Future
I loved it. A lot of shows like Upload, West World, Black Mirror, iRobot, etc have this general theme of an AI future world.
AI is the talk now and how governments will harness its power in the future to protect its citizens.
People have to be aware of how much they share of themselves to be connected to others at the expense of their own personal information being continuously exploited.

This story was crazy!
I don't think I knew what to expect when I started but 🤯 as it continued. Everytime I thought I'd figured something out another turn came about. Definitely deserves a sequel.

Too close to home
I gave this four stars only because it hits too close to home! We may be on the verge of this very existence in the nearer future than we’d like to think. The storyline was good, performance great, very thought provoking. I would have given five stars if it wasn’t leaning towards our present scary reality. Art imitating life.

Unnecessary breathing

Left Me Wanting More
Great listen! The sound quality was amazing. The plot was thick and I felt like I was watching this in real time. I need more of this genre in Black literature. Cast was amazing. The production was top tier! Something I could listen to again.
