Harry is a Maine coon cat and had been given magical abilities as well as immortality. His charge is a family with children in the 1800s. But he is still around when a descendant returns home for Christmas only to find her aunt dead. To her chagrin,the local sheriff who's had it in for the family since her father married the woman he wanted, he puts the blame in her and eventually arrests her. But she is given bail and Nikki and her friend Heather start the journey to discover the real killer. Plenty of adventure and suspense as you follow Harry and his charge investigate.
Beth is an amazing narrator whose vibe will draw you into the story and keep you enthralled.
Fantastic audio and story!!!

Harry is a cat tasked with protecting Nikkis family. When her Aunt dies the local cop wants to call it suicide.Only Harry can help with this case.I found the characters to be stereotypical.The cops portrayal was over the top. Beth A. McIntosh was an ok narrator other than that.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Some people will love this book and others not so much.
I would have given it three stars because some of the characters need to be developed more. However, I gave it four stars because I have not come across a book similiar to this.

Harry is Wonderful

Harry the Wonder Cat by Denise Brixey is a great story. I live with a Maine Coon cat, so the details and antics in the story were very appealing. Cozy mysteries that allow for my imagination to soar are so much fun. Elements of the story were cute. Beth A. McIntosh is a new narrator to me. She did a good job with this book. I did not notice any technical glitches with the sound recording either. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

Good murder mystery

A good murder mystery, where the beloved Maine Coon cat, Harry, helps solve the mystery. It takes place in a small town in the eastern U.S. where everybody knows your name and your business. You will come to suspect many of these people as Lynn’s niece and best friend set out to find the killer and motive.

I like to preface my reviews with the fact that I am a 68 year old female who reads mainly for pleasure although I love to do research in areas of personal interest which includes a wide range of topics from Ancient History to UFO's, and more.

This is a Review of the Audiobook version:

I really loved the premise of the story line. Main Coon cats are some of the most beautiful cats I have ever seen.

The beginning of the story was very charming, magical and creative. However I soon ran into issues with the story itself.

Big issue was the fouling of the "crime scene" and even though this is a book that is fiction/fantasy, it just lacked a lot.

The characters didn't seem to really stand out to me, (except for Harry), and I forced myself to listen to the rest of the audiobook.

I hate to leave a neutral or negative review, but for me this story just lacked any real punch or excitement.


Author: Denise Brixey is an author I had never read or listened to and I doubt that I will do so again. This just wasn't my type of book.

Narrator: Beth A McIntosh is someone who I had never listened to and she has a nice voice but also just didn't really imbue this story with a real sense of presence for me.

I don't know that I would listen to another audiboook that she has done.

This is a story that anyone from the ages of 13 and above could enjoy.
