The Village at Crossroad Corners is a tight-knit, traditional, community and a snapshot from the time before technology and big commerce became a mainstay in American culture. The community is rocked when the village council makes the shocking decision to allow a developer to build a dual-aged, residential community, that will house both the elderly and college aged students in a connecting network of buildings. It is an ambitious multi-generational plan, where students and retirees will learn to work together for each other’s benefit. As the development takes shape, new love, fresh starts, and brighter futures all take shape in ways that people never expected.
Saylor is determined to put her stamp on this unique community development and is single-minded in her endeavors. She never married, as she found no man capable of distracting her from her job as she refuses to settle for second place in any aspect of her world. When Easton crosses swords with her in the discussions about this development, she finds herself totally engaged with the man, and suddenly staying in The Village at Crossroad Corners has never looked more enticing.
Easton is convinced this development will change the dynamics of their village and is the strongest voice against the plan. Saylor is doing her best to win him over, but these two stubborn beings are at odds with each other. However, when Saylor’s daughter takes a liking to the tough developer representative, he finds himself starting to thaw in his feelings. While he still hangs on to his stance about the development, he begins to soften in other ways with this amazing woman.
