But Maddie doesn't know Saff's secret. She doesn't know where she came from—what she was. And Saff will do anything, especially lie, to get the medication she needs.

The absolute last thing she needs is to fall for some smart-ass rich girl who will get in the way of that.

It was great!

Great story and excellent narration! I usually not a big fan of zombie stories, but I saw many good reviews and I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed! Highly recommended.

Loyalty beyond pain

This is a great story that personifies the protectiveness of a great love and a selflessness that can occur when survival and responsibility is taken to that great loving place.
As always with the narration of Lori Prince, I’m astounded by her talent and depth of emotion her voice details.

This is a story of survival, love, and great emotion.
I highly recommend.

The most emotionally profound piece of art (of any medium) I've ever consumed

It will be a crime if both the narrator and the author dont win their fields' respective best-of awards for this. Hearing Red is a realistic and emotionally intense portrayal of what love and life could look like for sapphic women with disabilities in a post-apocalyptic world.

One of the characters being blind allowed for a unique way of describing scenery and experiences that's different from the typical third person narration (much of it came in conversation between the main characters).

This mechanic dramatically increased the level of emotional intimacy and tore down the barrier between what my body was experiencing reading it and what the characters were experiencing in the story.

The narrator is a masterful actor whose performance blends with that mechanic to multiply the deepening intimacy and stakes throughout.

As a sapphic woman with disabilities, I think this audiobook is a masterpiece. It finally allowed me to connect emotionally with a post-apocalyptic story in a way that others never have.

Just know going in that it's going to be an incredibly intense experience.

I've cried many times with books, movies, or TV, but I've never cried like this.

I've never laid curled up and shaking. Or needed a week away from friends and family, and to be cuddled and cared for by my partner for days to recover from that kind of emotional overload/burnout due to a story.

Everything about this experience was worth it, but I'm so glad that I finished the last third over a holiday weekend.

Top three lgbt romance books ever

This book was so good, I was sobbing at the end. Great representation for blind people and human guides. What I wouldn’t give to be able to read this book again for the first time. 10/10 I would recommend this to anyone deadass. I mean shit I might just read it again 🤷‍♀️

The details of all the places and characters

This is a great book the author gives great detail of the settings and characters. It keeps you interested the whole story.

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster 🎢. The resilience of the main characters is beyond powerful. Well written story and the narration is impeccable. Can’t wait for more stories from this author ✍🏿.

Obsessed!

I’m obsessed with this book. I was HOOKED the entire time. I set out to listen to one book a month and now here I am 3 days into February and wondering WHY there are no other titles from this author! I’ve never read this type of book before and now I’m obsessed. Might just listen again because it was THAT good!
