This is the story of two small town childhood sweethearts from the 1950s, on the verge of graduating high school and becoming man and wife, when suddenly, heartbreaking tragedy tears their world apart. Now, with a broken destiny and an unplanned future that does not include each other, life continues to run in the wrong direction for both Jack Masters and Lillian Maxwell.
Incredibly, though, this is also a story of love redeemed and a destiny ultimately fulfilled. Regardless of the fact that it has been almost half a century, and that a distance of over 10,000 miles separates the two, fate has supernaturally reconnected the couple, proving once again that it is never too late for a second chance at happiness.
The story of Jack and Lillian is filled with teenage optimism, young love, tragedy, and hopelessness, but surprisingly, it culminates in absolute amazement and joy. With both a modern day setting as well as historical flashbacks, which include a number of 1950s rock and roll music legends, this story of hearts rescued, and lovers reunited, will draw you in and capture your heart.
Tom DiFrancesca writes from the heart, passionately. He has experienced a great deal of both love and tragic loss in his lifetime. A parent should never have to bury one of their children and that hurt never fully leaves them. Hearts should never be broken but the author has been on the losing end of that deal, several times, as well. On the other hand, reuniting with a childhood sweetheart is not something that is limited to romance fiction, not by a long shot. The author has recently lived and breathed that experience for himself and he will now forever be a very thankful and happy man.
