Acerca de esta escucha

The Wulfriths. It all began with a woman.

A battle. A crown. The conqueror. The conquered. Medieval England - forever changed by the Battle of Hastings. And the rise of the formidable Wulfriths.

A heartless Norman

Chevalier Maël D’Argent lost more than his striking looks when he aided the Duke of Normandy in taking the English throne from King Harold. As much by his own actions at the Battle of Hastings as those of the enemy, he lost his sire and his honor in breaking faith with his family.

Believing himself unworthy of forgiveness, his ruined face the least due him, Maël now serves a ruthless man bent on subduing Saxons resistant to Norman rule.

But when his mission to safeguard King William’s dignity leads to the rescue of a curiously familiar Saxon woman who causes the empty place inside him to strain its seams, he discovers he may not be as heartless as the one he serves - nor resistant to the wiles of one he ought to count an enemy.

A false abbess

In the guise of Abbess Mary Sarah, the illegitimate Mercia has served the Saxon resistance for years in anticipation of learning who sired her. At last ordered to cast off the habit and veil, Mercia is told that revelation of her parentage hinges on the acceptance of another role that could see her sacrificed by the noble family who refuses to acknowledge her.

When she resists and is abducted by Saxon allies, her savior proves to be the scarred Norman warrior who spared her following the great battle. Once more, something sorrowfully empty in Sir Maël makes her long to fill his emptiness with what little she possesses, even if his captivity renders it impossible for him to forgive one as deceptive as she.

Even if she never discovers who she is...

From the coronation of William the Conqueror at Westminster, to the amassing of the Danish fleet intent on dethroning England’s Norman king, Sir Maël and Mercia’s tale unfolds in the fourth book in the Age of Conquest series, revealing the origins of the Wulfriths in the best-selling Age of Faith series.

Heartless

This book is ANYTHING but heartless! It pulls you in to explore from the first moment. I’ve almost listened straight through.

Well Done Tamara Leigh!

Wonderful

Yet again Tamara Leigh has produced an outstanding book. The narrator consistently provides the life to the characters that carries the story. And now there is promise of another series in the future. I will read the next book then re-read the faith series and this one again as I await its release. Thank you Tamara Leigh and Mary Sarah Agliotta!

Loved this book!

I love this book; the intricate characters and plot provided endeared me further to this series. As I have so thoroughly enjoyed the Age of Faith series, I continue to enjoy this one and look forward to the stories introduced here.

Heartless book 4 in the series

I I’ve the way this series builds one story upon another so we are able to see what happens with the other appealing familial characters. Mary Sarah Agliotta is a phenomenal storyteller who makes you ant to jump from one of the audiobooks to the next. Her narrations are distinctive and very appealing. You can’t help but fall in love with each of the damaged characters as they journey towards happiness and forgiveness. Excellent book suitable for all ages as the sexual chemistry is so tastefully done and more implied than explicit. Don’t miss any of these books and audiobooks.

Heartless has a heart.

I have read and listened to Heartless 2. Once when it first came out and again before starting Reckless. Both times it held me under a spell that made putting it down almost impossible. I would recommend the entire series and “The Age of Faith” series. Tamera Leigh’s books are full of intriguing plots, action, and of course how the hero Knight gets the lady in such a way as to keep you guessing.

I’m biggest fan and addicted...

I decided I HAVE to do a review on each of Leigh’s books as I have read everyone that is out at least once (except “LAWLESS”, which I get on Monday!) and purchased the audibles and listened to them all at LEAST three times over the last year since I started reading and listening.
This is a great book where the hero and heroine have faults and imperfections. For instance, Sir Mael has physical scars and guilt, Mary Sarah a hidden identity. But I love that Sir Mael shows strength of moral character, tenacity, tenderness, and respect; Mary Sarah shows pluck, charity, and strength.

I appreciate the speech, which seems true to the time era and really adds to the medieval flavor, and I also love the narrator. So realistic!

I don’t know how the author describes in great detail fights and battles, but they are described exquisitely and full of action, yet also are tastefully done.

And yet, the story(s) has a strong faith base with a family featuring the D’Argent family of warriors.
I feel like Leigh has done her research well, and we are transported into the fascinating and horrifying time period of William the Conqueror.

Thank you so much for adding richness and color, and a spiritual quality to my life. The very best medieval romance author I’ve had the pleasure of reading. I whole heartedly recommend.

Loved it!

I was looking forward to the release of this book. Once I got it, I couldn’t stop listening. Wonderful and original story, with an in-depth look at mysterious characters from previous books. Well done in every area.

Mael captured my heart from the beginning

I apologize I don’t know how to spell Mael. I am listening on audible. However Mael from the first book captured my heart. A man that had never really had his father’s approval, and had to stand out amongst his family of high elevation so much that Royalty knew it was imperative to be on the side of this family. D’argents. again I don’t know how to spell their name. Each D’argent was known for gifts they possessed, and their prowess as knights/soldiers. One very strong & tall, another with the ability to know who or what was around him at all times, one with the gift of stealth. These gifts helped them to keep everyone in the family alive while fighting in wars. Mael had anger & an extremely beautiful face. His father having beat him & called him pretty boy as if it was disgusting for his son to be so incredibly handsome. That Mael could not develop any real gifts given him. Then to lose that beauty he was known for on one half of his face, sent him into a tail spin. His father having been killed in battle, he felt he had no one. His character seemed to have been dealt many cruel blows. I became thankful for the character Mary Sara Abbess, (and grateful for the voice talents of the real Mary Sara) This woman having been treated much the same by her grandmother and father as Mael was by his father. They found common ground even before knowing of their common ground. 😁 This is a tale of a man who grew into his family’s great reputation and a woman who also grew into her family name, but chose to leave it behind. I adore Mary Sara & Mael. **Some spoilers but not even close to spoiling the story**
