Starts Out Slowly, But Worth the Listen

I listened to the audio version via Hoopla. The book started out somewhat slowly to me. The situation with Pippa's panic attacks, Mal's panic attacks, and Mal initially being manipulated seemed to go on too long.
Once they started introducing the members of the Deep Ops team things started to pick up.

I liked the quirkiness of the team and how they interacted. The Malcolm/Pippa relationship felt like a drag on the story to me. They danced around each other entirely too long.

The cult aspect added some interest. The way one of Isaac's soldier's reacted toward the end was pitiful and ridiculous, all rolled up together. There was no way to garner any sympathy for his pathetic self.

Throwing in the bit of BDSM was kind of surprising. It never seemed like it was fully fleshed out in the storyline. I could see areas where it could have had more of an impact, but it wasn't used in that way. So, it could have easily been left out completely.

All in all, it was an ok listen. The plot had its moments, and the story gradually got better. It does make me interested in the stories behind the rest of the Deep Ops team.

Everyone can start over

The story keeps you guessing what will happen next. Love the animals in the story also.

Great narrator and story

This book starts slow but the series stacks with each book. also the Narrator with Audible gives every character their own voice so you never get lost in the story while listening. His fantastic narration carries through the Series.

Exciting Thriller

Hidden grabs the reader right from the very start and keeps up the suspense throughout . I really enjoyed the voices of the readers for this book, they all sounded very appropriate for the different characters they read for.

Good Romantic Suspense

I find this author to be consistently good, and this book was no exception. The central relationship was steamy, the suspense element well developed, and the background character teased at intriguing sequels.

Didn’t see the ending coming

Nice pace to storyline. Characters & humor very believable and I didn’t mind the single reader narration it was a nice change from single female narration. Looking forward to subsequent books!

Wish there were 2 narrators

I really really wish they used a male and female narrator. The narrator did well, but having a female narrator would bring the heroine to life too. I'm only half way through right now and even with one narrator I am intrigued to finish the book. I will update the overall story stars if the ending warrants it. So far story is good, narration is disappointing during the heroine parts.
