Acerca de esta escucha

What if you moved into your dream house and discovered that an obsessive, irrational, hating machine was living right next door? What if you had a background in psychology and thought you could handle it? A seasoned clinician and psychology instructor tells the story of his 10 year struggle to deal with this neighbor from hell, who walked out of a textbook on borderline pathology, and into the lives of he and his wife. He uses this lesson to distill some helpful advice for dealing with this particular brand of nightmare. Humor and humanity are the focus, and everyday language is used to convey the message.

A serious book with humorous undertones 😅😅😅<br />

The house next door is empty now I'm a little nervous lol.
I love the realism of Jonathan Jay book's.
Jonathan's book's should really come with a choking hazard warning's because he has the ability to make you go from seriously listening to breaking out in spontaneous laughter quickly.
I nearly choked on my tea at one point 😄
Jonathan narrates his book's with perfect sarcastic comedic timing which I thoroughly enjoy.
This is my second book by him and I'm glad he kept the same formula for this book.

But on a serious note the things this author and his wife had to endure was seriously mucked up!
The self control it took not to ring their neighbor's neck is beyond me.
They definitely took the high road.
I guess the real moral of this story is..
You probably shouldn't harass the author next door or the whole world will know just what a crazy Bit# h you really are 🤔
I was given this book by the author in exchange for my honest review, my only regret is that I can't give it more stars.
I highly recommend this book.
If you enjoy it you should check out How to tell if your friend is a sociopath.
I promise both book's will have you in stitches while actually learning how to handle the hemorrhoids who unfortunately share your space.
And the gut busting strong language? Well, that's just a bonus 😉

Fatal Attraction Neighbor - With Humor

If you're looking for a funny book that talks turkey with a little aptly placed profanity -- as in, the way most people talk, or wish they could talk and not be criticized for talking that way -- this is the book for you.

Jonathan Jaye describes his borderline personality (she's nuts, folks) neighbor who made Glenn Close from Fatal Attraction seem rather stable.

He offers practical advice on how to combat the crazies in your life, and how to cope with the authorities, how to gather evidence, and how to pursue criminal action if it comes to that.

Leave it to Jonathan to deal with a serious topic like this while leaving you giggle-snorting your favorite drink with laughter. But beware: If it's a milkshake, it can be painful.

Note: I was gifted this book for an honest review. Caution: Do not drink liquids through a straw while listening, or you could end up regurgitating those same liquids back through your nose because of unexpected laughter while listening to this book.

Think your neighbor is crazy?

Jonathan Jaye has improved from his book &quot; How to Tell If Your Friend Is a Sociopath: Learning How to See Through the Smoke&quot; his previous book could feel disjointed with stories into flowing smoothly into his descriptions. This book however tells a single story about a crazy neighbor and the unique ways she could come up with to torture Jonathan and his wife. My personal favorite was the mirrors setup with sound emitting motion detectors that were setup on their driveway.

This is not a book telling you that it is easy to deal with someone who is crazy or that everyone should be able to keep their cool when living next to a crazy person, but rather a basic layout on what should be done. There are also constant reminders that even the author screwed up in dealing with his neighbor and that not retaliating is above all the most important thing.

If you would like a surprisingly light and short crazy story with some useful information this is the book for you. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Good, straightforward story and advice !

Where does How to Tell If Your Neighbor Is a Borderline rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was a quick listen but there is a lot packed in here. I laughed several times during this book because he sure tells it like it is.

What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Tell If Your Neighbor Is a Borderline?

Seeing the neighbor in handcuffs. How satisfying that must have been at the time!

Which scene was your favorite?

Dancing in the driveway was great

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

This is one that kept me listening- and it's short so that wasn't a problem

Any additional comments?

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

How to deal with crazy people...

Any additional comments?

Enjoyed this book. Made me think about someone in my life who is a borderline and gave me some practical advice on how to deal with it. Really drove home the point on how I should be dealing with it. For that I am grateful and appreciate the book.

The only reason it was four stars instead of five was because it was kinda short. I would have LOVED LOVED LOVED to find out more about what the crazy neighbor did to make the author's life miserable but maybe it was a legal issue?

Please note that I received this title for free in exchange for an unbiased review

Do you enjoy watching someone else's train wreck?

I CAN'T NOT WATCH
If you're the kind of person that loves watching a good train wreck, grab your popcorn and drink because in this short audio book you get a front seat as author Jonathan Jaye shares his experiences with a long time borderline neighbor and their humorous-from-a-distance antics.

TAKING NOTES?
You are going to want to have a paper and pad ready to jot down the points of well earned wisdom that are shared should you be so unlucky as to unwittingly board this ill-fated train. It occurs to me that the saying, You don't pick your family, but you can pick your friends, might also be extended to neighbors. If it so happens that a family member, neighbor, or heaven forbid and rest your soul, a friend turns out to be a borderline personality and inexplicable behaviors begin to rain down destruction on the normalcy of your life, those notes you are about to take are the game plan for ousting the invader and restoring peace and security to the land, or your life in this case.

WARNING - AUTHOR NARRATED
The author himself narrates this work, but I didn't think he was half bad! In fact I think he did a good job! I have listened to many audio books in which the narrators, narrators who have narrated numerous other audio books, don't do as well as he has. Mr Jaye, if you're reading this, you may just have a career in narration once your life's experiences with dysfunctional people is told out. But if there's more for you to share, share on. Because I have found I unadmittedly do enjoy watching someone else's train wreck!

The Crazy Bitch Next Door

I don't normally write reviews. However I enjoyed this book so much, that I felt the need to write a review. First, this book was recommended to me by my wife who writes reviews for many authors and narrators. Our tastes in books are polar opposites. So when she recommended this book to me I was a little hesitant.

How to Tell if Your Neighbor is a Borderline absolutely cracked me up. Not that the book was meant to be comedic, but because of the real life ridiculousness. Being a law enforcement officer for the past twenty years I have seen many cases that the author talks about in his book.

From the different levels of crazy to the examples provided by the author, I kept laughing to myself and saying, yup I've seen that, or yes sir....she's BATSHIT CRAZY.

Do I recommend this book? Hell yeah I do! For a short read and a quick laugh, you can't go wrong. Who knows, maybe you're living next door to a Borderline.

Good once it gets going

Any additional comments?

An experienced psychologist shares his experiences with a borderline/BPD neighbor who is determined to make his life miserable.

Fully the first half is a meandering rant of generalities. There are almost no details of the neighbor, just denigration. It's hard to tell if there's going to be a point. The whole book is only 40 minutes so basically wasting 20 minutes was disappointing.

Around the half way point, it felt more focused. There were interesting examples of the insufferable neighbor's actions as well as advice from the trenches for how to deal with such a foe. This is a disorder which is hard to put your finger on if you don't have experience with it; examples were very helpful. As a movie fan, I appreciated the movie examples which were illuminating.

I enjoyed the narration. It was funny, dry, and acerbic.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

very tame description of the borderline

by golly the guys a good narrator but his book is just fluff. he gives you a few terms and definitions and then bitches about his neighbor who drops in while hes trying to have sex all the time. if that's the worst you've dealt with, my dude, then you got off easy lol. I got it to see the neighbors perspective after I realized what exactly her problem is. you see my borderline mother was the crazy lady next door and she'd wipe this guy off the floor with her bizarre lifestyle anecdotes.
