The Brian Jonestown Massacre are one of the great contemporary cult American rock and roll bands. At the peak of their anarchic reign in the San Francisco underground of the late '90s their psychedelic output was almost as prodigious and impressive as their narcotic intake.

They were the last great band of the '60s and the first great band of the '70s. They rose, somewhat unpromisingly, from the ashes of the Yardbirds to become one of the biggest-selling rock bands of all time - and eventually paid the price for it, with disaster, drug addiction, and death.

What A Ride!
Joel does a great job with the narration of this wild ride. It’s great to hear the origin story of the tambourine man so many have come to know. I don’t want to spoil anything so just buy the ticket and take the ride.

Dig it!!
Joel had me laughing out loud throughout this book. The added bonus is he reads it himself, so you hear it in his voice. I will definitely be reading more of his work! Waiting for his second book now.
