When twelve-year-old Birch first learns the rare clock gene she inherited from her grandmother enables her to time travel, she's not excited--she's terrified. After all, she has a pretty horrible track record when it comes to succeeding at new endeavors. So when her Gran begs her to travel back to 1894 Ontario, Canada on behalf of animal welfare, she says no. But when Birch's refusal causes her grandmother's health to take an immediate nosedive, she faces an impossible choice.
Can she find the courage to set aside her fears and fulfill her Gran's last wish? Or will she be forced to live with the terrible consequences forever?

So many of the words stood out in mispronunciation that it became difficult enjoy the story at all.
The story is a clever one. However, little is done in the way of character development.
