loved it then and especially now

listened to it from the beginning to the end loving every second of it. This is my 3rd time with the story and the vocal performance adds things in a story that you could never get through just text

An amazing narrator for a fantastic story

While I enjoy audiobooks, I rarely find that narrators add to my experience vs. reading for myself: it takes longer, their voices don't match what I have pictured in my head, etc. This book is a wonderful exception to that rule. Eva absolutely NAILS the main character. Her pacing, inflection, and humor are perfect and really make this book come alive. I went back and forth between reading and listening, depending on circumstance, and the audiobook was more fun.

As for the book itself, it is cute, whimsical, humorous, touching, and unexpectedly adventurous. There were several points that I definitely did not expect and I think the author delivered something far greater than the somewhat silly premise might imply. Well worth a read or a listen.

completely worth the purchase. I rarely leave reviews but this book was too great not too. the solemnity of war, the ache of loneliness and the mind of a cat. epic

Interesting and Unique

The story was good and unique, the audible narrator does an amazing job too. My only complaint would be that Lily acts more like a dog who recently lost her owner than a cat who lost her owner hundreds of years ago. Lily also lacks the apathy and aloofness of solitary predators like cats. Which in turn drives the chronic depression in nearly every chapter. A very good example of why apathy is a defense mechanism against becoming overwhelmed and getting into an emotional death spiral. Bear in mind it does get better as she overcomes things through the book and ends really good.

Excellent narrator. Fun story.

I loved the narration. It really brought the whole story to life. It was fun. The cat protagonist creates unique opportunities that the author takes full advantage of. If there’s a sequel, I’d be happy to read it.

Phenomenal

There wasn’t a single part that I didn’t like. The artful mastery of bringing all of the fun little tidbits together and painting a picture that you can finally see after so many hints was fantastically executed. I started this read as a silly little book, and ended up emotionally invested in all of the characters.

Interesting premise.

There is way more to this story than just an uplifted cat. I listened to it twice to catch the nuances.

Refreshing read

I really enjoyed this one. Hard scifi with a twinge of fantasy… and cats! Also I like that the author didn’t try to drag this out into a series like so many do nowadays. Like the title says, a refreshing read.

Epic sci-fi adventure!!!

If you don’t love cats, you’re wrong first of all… Second, this book is amazing whether you’re a cat person or not! The hi-jinx and the comedy were great, but there was a really great story being told in between all that. Highly recommend! Fantastic voice work too.

Lily Ad Alice

Wonderful storytelling, I fell in love with an incorrigible, caring, daring and neurotic mess that is Lily, thank you to Eva Kaminsky for an excellent performance. There are a few layers at work, both storywise and character wise. Lily the cat makes friends, runs from and stalks ghosts, strives to add flavor to her life, and battles to save Earth.
Lots of humor, and some touching moments. I was always rooting for Lily throughout the story.
And a satisfying ending, too. It was good enough.
