Acerca de esta escucha
Brought to you by Penguin.
From internationally renowned writer and Booker Prize winner Salman Rushdie, a searing, deeply personal account of enduring - and surviving - an attempt on his life thirty years after the fatwa that was ordered against him
Speaking out for the first time, and in unforgettable detail, about the traumatic events of August 12, 2022, Salman Rushdie answers violence with art, and reminds us of the power of words to make sense of the unthinkable. Knife is a gripping, intimate, and ultimately life-affirming meditation on life, loss, love, art - and finding the strength to stand up again.

I Now Love Salman Better
Salman Rushdie's book is one of my favourite for this year! Thank you for writing this and for sharing. This was vivid, honest, and from the heart. Gosh! Thank you.

Intimate, honest, inspiring, intelligent, intriguing
I found this audiobook by this much-admired author very touching, because I have been attacked and mugged myself and although my attack was not even NEARLY as violent as Salman Rushdie's I experienced many similar feelings.
I love that Knife is read by Salman Rushdie himself. I love his references to other great minds, literature and stories, like ee cummings, Shakespeare and George Orwell.
The reference to his sister and her massaging of his toes in hospital had me in tears. Lifelong companions are so rare and invaluable! At times I smiled, at times I nodded and at times I just felt this warm feeling of connection with this unique and fearless voice.
Salman Rushdie is a legend and an unstoppable force. This is a life-affirming book. Hail those in the world who understand humour and who appreciate satire. Hail free speech. Hail freedom of religion (or non-religion!) Hail Salman Rushdie! May room 101 never ever happen for you. I am sure it won't. Thank you for your work and your contribution to the world. Poignant, funny and riveting
As always, excellent prose and a heartfelt and surprisingly humorous recalling of what must have been the most challenging of events. I’m so glad we have his voice with us still, as it is again so needed.

Well written and well read account of an almost murder.
I thought Rushdie dealt well with the story and the musings and introspections of his life and the attack. Enjoyed the book, and thought overall it was well written and well read. Thought provoking about Islam, religion as a whole and technology and how they all impact his and our lives.
