Cosa succede quando ti abitui all'infelicità? Alessio non ci ha mai pensato, fino al giorno in cui Elena entra nella sua vita e gli mostra che esiste qualcosa di bello e luminoso al di là delle responsabilità sul lavoro e della routine. Ma poi Elena sparisce, così com'è arrivata. E Alessio entra in una strana crisi personale: ha 29 anni, vive a Milano e ha un lavoro che gli piace. Però manca qualcosa: qualcosa di suo e di nessun altro. I sogni di un tempo dove sono finiti?
La sensazione è quella di aver accumulato già troppi rimpianti, e così Alessio decide di fare il primo colpo di testa della sua vita: prendendo come riferimento una vecchia lista di desideri mai realizzati trovata per caso (o per destino?), decide di buttarsi in un'avventura che lo aiuti a evolvere nella persona che vorrebbe essere: un viaggio in Centro America, alla riscoperta di quel "buon vivere" che sembra aver dimenticato.
Ispirato dall'esperienza in Costa Rica - dove ha vissuto per alcuni mesi tra il 2020 e il 2021 - in questo romanzo Gianluca Gotto ci accompagna in uno dei paesi più felici al mondo, alla scoperta della filosofia della "pura vida". Un atteggiamento semplice ma potente che, come imparerà Alessio, è la risposta giusta alla frenesia e alla paura delle nostre vite sempre più complesse. "Avevo scoperto la "pura vida".
