Acerca de esta escucha

Bullets rip the air, snapping past Clay Barlow’s head as, riding Blue, he charges a band of robbers surrounding the Austin stagecoach. Clay lets loose with a load of buckshot from his 12-gauge Roper Repeating Shotgun. With his third blast, the robbers turn tail and race off into the Texas hill country, leaving one of their own dying in the hot Texas dust.

At 18, Clay has been invited to join the Texas Rangers. Now, he rides to Austin to either put on the Rangers’ badge or fight for the law in Texas courts, fulfilling his parents' wish that he become an attorney. Whether he protects Texas on the range or in the courtroom, his quick and deadly six-guns will not be stilled. Join Clay as his path takes him from brawls to blizzards to gunfights. The only question remaining is, will he survive to choose between law and justice?

Great Story and Great Narrator

Donald L. Robertson knows how to write a captivating story. Clay Barlow is a likeable character with a decision to make. Should he become a lawyer or a lawman? You can listen to this audiobook without worrying about who might be listening... theres no bad language. This is a fun story, serious at times but a good time for sure. Scott Miller does an excellent job bringing the story to life. Highly recommend.

Super Western Romp!

The story here is a lot of fun - the story of a man facing down his destiny and not sure which way to turn. The right decisions in life are not always the obvious ones. I liked the narration a lot. This felt like a full cast recording despite the lone narrator. He does a great job of switching out voices, etc. and making you feel like you're a part of the action. Overall, it feels like a slightly campy version of Justified set in the Wild West and without bad language and intimate scenes. It works very well. I don't normally read Westerns and I confess that I solicited a free review copy of this book. However, the opinion remains my own and was not bought or pushed for by either the author nor the narrator. I will also be reading more of Donald Robertson's work in the future I think and I'll definitely be keen to buy another work narrated by Scott Miller.

A Rousing Tale

I am always on the lookout for a new western author. Donald L. Robertson has produced a great series called Justice. Our protagonist is Clayton Barlow. Clay is trying to decide whether to join the Texas Rangers or practice law. His grandfather is a retired senator and an attorney and talks Clay into going to New York City to law school. Clay graduates from Columbia University Law School and heads back to Texas. After reuniting with his horse, Blue, he discovers his grandfather has been shot in the back. Clay sets out to find out who did it.

The book is well written and is not stop action. Robertson does a good job with character development. Robertson writes in the pulp western fashion. This is a great old fashion action packed western. I can not wait to read the next book in the series.

The book is seven hours and 42 minutes. Scott Miller does a great job narrating the book. Miller is an actor and voice-over artist. This is my first experience with both the author and narrator.

Classic western fair

Texas Rangers, pretty girls and tough guys! The twist is.... well, you’ll need to read ( or listen) to the book as I’m not going to give away any secrets here.
I will just say that there is sometimes a difference between “Law & Justice”. Enjoy.

I've been looking for a good old west

This is the first book I have read by Donald L Robertson but wont be my last. I loved this story. It had a good old-west feel.
Clay Barlow is eighteen and riding to Austin as robbers attack the stage. He is invited to join the Rangers but has to meet with his Grandfather who is wanting him to join the family business in law.
I really enjoyed this story. there was a lot of action and it was like watching a western on TV. there was a spot where he went with the Irishmen to study law then suddenly he was back a couple years later and it felt like a gap in the story. but the rest of the story picked up and it was interesting.
Scott Miller is also a first time narrator for me. I loved is western sounding voice. It fit the story well and the characterization is good, pacing good and I will be adding hi to favorite narrators.
Now I need to listen to book one and do suggest you listen in order as I felt at the beginning I missed something too.

I love a good western!

Clay Barlow has always wanted to be a Texas Ranger. His parents had hoped he would serve the law on a different path by becoming an attorney. Clay had always been an upstanding, law-abiding citizen, managing to be in the right place at the right time to foil those who chose to break the law. The shooting of one such train robber precipitated Clay’s grandfather to be shot in revenge by the bandit’s family. Clay had gone to New York to study law and was on his way home when he heard the news of his grandfather. So began the hunt for his grandfather’s shooter. Meanwhile, another outlaw was making a name for himself as a holdup man and a killer. The paths of these characters would eventually cross, leaving behind violence and death. I love a good western and this one is no exception. This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.

A Five Star Western

Law and Justice: Justice Series - Book 2.. What else can I say that 5* does not.
This is a classic western - good guy, lots of very bad guys, a story of right and wrong. Plenty of old time action - A classic westerns for lovers of that genre. I haven't read book 1 but book 2 can be read as a standalone without loss.
Scott Millers narration is superb.
I highly recommend this book for western lovers.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my own request, and voluntarily leave this review.

LAW AND JUSTICE

This is an excellent book and a great series. I liked everything about this book and Clay. The only thing I don't like about Clay is he will get into first fights. Someone like Clay that depends on his guns to stay alive don't need to be risking damaging the trigger finger or hands. That could get you killed. But so much about that. This book held my attention from the first sentence. Clay is wanting to practice law. I don't care for that. I like it when he's out chasing outlaws. In the next book he's going to be joining the Texas Ranger. I think that will be even better. Scott Miller does a great job narrating this book. Changed my view

I had never listened to a western book. I have tried to read a few but could never get through it. This book has changed my view. It took me until the 3 chapter to really get into the book but once I did I didn't want to put it down. I love that clay tried not to use his gun first but did when needed. The relationship with his grandfather made me think of mine! Would read again! The narrator's voice was great!!
