Gwénola est une collégienne qui ne lâche sa tablette que pour embêter Bébé, son vieux chat. Elle ne sait pas que Bébé est en fait un dragon qui a le pouvoir de passer entre les dimensions. Parmi les mondes dans lesquels le chat-dragon voyage en quête de croquettes, se trouve l’île au ciel de glace. Ses habitants sont grands comme des souris sur deux-pattes et ils craignent tous le Grand Dragon. Tous, sauf un jeune garçon: Eochaid.
Eochaid est le meilleur archer des tribus de Dana mais c’est aussi « le fils du traître » et on lui refuse l’honneur de devenir un guerrier. Pourtant, lorsqu’il apprend que son monde est menacé par les Fir Bolgs et que seul le Grand Dragon pourra le sauver, le garçon n’hésite pas. Il poursuit l’animal légendaire au-delà de la porte. Mais Bébé, lui, ne pense qu’à manger.
Les Larmes du Dragon est un roman d'aventure jeunesse inspiré des légendes celtiques et surtout de la guerre des tribus de Dana, les Tuatha Dé Danann. Même si leurs ennemis ont bien changé! Dans le roman, ce sont des monstres d'ombre qui ressemblent à des rats (d'après Bébé le chat dragon!). L'histoire brode aussi sur les mythes et faits historiques liés à Excalibur, l’épée du roi Arthur. Mais l'univers s'inspire aussi du Japon médiéval et des mangas. De l'aventure, des combats, de la romance et un drôle de chat qui se prend pour un dragon! Une histoire de dragon amusante, pleine d'action et de sentiments pour les enfants de sept à 77 ans!
