Caleb and Paisley

I enjoyed this book and the audible. The narrators were great. I really liked Paisley, but I loved Evelyn. Kids make or break a book, and she made it. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series when it comes out!

Amazing Story as always!

AL Jackson is one of my top favorite authors. She’s probably in my top 5 favorite authors. Love Me Today has two of my favorite genres in it… small town and single father romance. If you look through my reviews, I’m sure you’ll see several are of these same genres. Paisley is looking to restore her dream of working with horses again. She might has put her dreams aside for the last bit while he let her ex follow his dreams. She’s now ready to find herself again. This is how she meets Caleb and Evelyn. Evelyn is desperately wanting to learn to ride a horse. Against Caleb’s better judgement, he hires Paisley. He immediately wants her. He isn’t alone though; Paisley is just as wanton as Caleb is.

Paisley falls for Evelyn’s sweetness right away. Evelyn’s quiet, it’s clear to Paisley that her heart is aching. She’s wondering about the missing mom that no one talks about. Not only is Evelyn quiet but Caleb also seems to have something going on. He gives new-meaning to being over-protective. He’s over-bearing. He’s aloft. However, it’s clear that he would move heaven and Earth for Evelyn. So why does he keep his distance? It’s all a mystery to Paisley. The narration by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt gave one of the best performances. I could not get enough of this story. I mean, it’s nearly 11 hours long and I finished it in one day. Arden was perfect as Caleb. He can come off hard and fierce, it was the perfect tone for Caleb. Arndt is one of my all-time favorite narrators. She fully encompasses Paisley and all her characteristics. I really didn’t want this one to end!

Such a good romantic suspense!

I read so many suspense novels that it’s hard to keep me guessing. I can say that I definitely didn’t expect the ending to this. I loved this book. Caleb and Paisley are amazing together, and I love lil Evie. Joe and Andi were the perfect narrators for this story!

Heart Wrenching But So Good!!

Caleb Greyson is trying to keep his niece safe from his past. Running literally into Paisley Dae could be the one thing that will change his life. Paisley is running late when bam she back into an SUV to make matters worse it is the one man she was hoping to get a job with. The sparks flew between these two and my heart broke for little Evelyn. Paisley was just the light these two needed in their lives and in return she gained so much more. Listen or read this!!

Breathe Taking

Great story!!! You will laugh, cry and at times can’t stop reading wondering what is going to happen next! Narrators do an amazing job! Overall one of the best stories I’ve read!!

A fun read

I love me some AL Jackson and this story was enjoyable and fun! I can’t wait for her next story!

Wonderfully Captivating & Heartfelt! Loved It!

I love, love, loved this book, the story is absolutely wonderful and it not only captivated my attention the entire time, but tugged on my heartstrings too. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about and even fall for. Paisley Dae gave up a lot when she left her small hometown, Time River, Colorado, but she is back home where she belongs with friends and loved ones, and is ready to start over again. She is hoping to get back on track and do something she loves and has an interview to work with a young girl to train her to ride and handle a horse. Except she already met the person who is hiring her and the interaction was not a good one, lets just say it started off with a crash, her vehicle and his. Caleb Greyson bought the ranch and moved there from Seattle to keep his little girl Evelyn safe. He continues to conduct business in Seattle, but with everything that happened, he needed to keep Evelyn out of harm’s way. Evelyn lost her mother and is feeling that loss, but she gains a love for horses and wants to ride one, but overprotective Caleb does not allow her to. He compromises and hires a person to train her and the horse, not expecting that person, his friend’s sister, to be the same one who crashed into him that morning. Paisley gave him lip then and does not put up with his grumpy attitude for the interview, putting him in his place but he needs her for Evelyn and winds up hiring her on a trial basis. Evelyn is adorable and a real scene stealer, her dialog was cute and heartwarming, she is easy to fall in love with and that is exactly what happens for Paisley, which makes it that much easier for putting up with Caleb. Caleb sees how Paisley is with Evelyn and as a person, he softens up towards her and lets his guard down, he still holds back and she knows he has secrets and just when they make headway his biggest fear happens, the threat he was running from found him. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully written and plotted story that has the perfect balance of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. I also loved how the suspense storyline played out, mysterious because we get information a piece at a time and it keeps you thinking and on your toes, and when it all comes to light, the reveal of who was behind it all is surprising and something you never saw coming. Superbly done, A.L. Jackson, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I am loving this new world you created and the characters, and it is definitely a place I would love to visit and spend time in again soon.  

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, A.L. Jackson cast the perfect narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Joe Arden and Andi Arndt are superbly talented voice artists and that talent truly shined in their performance. Their portrayal of these characters was wonderful, they were naturals in their roles and had a complete understanding of who they were meant to be, giving each a voice that suited that character’s persona perfectly. Arndt nailed it as Paisley, handled her witty dialogue with ease, Arden played Caleb as the over protective grump perfectly and the alpha boss. And their Evelyn was heartwarmingly brilliant, bravo to both. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, having you feel every single one. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Their voices and performances complement each other’s and their narration enhances an already fabulous story to another level. 

Fantastic

The narrators chosen for this phenomenal story deserves a pat on the back. Joe Arden performed Caleb flawlessly and Andi was Paisley to a tee. They held my attention from the very beginning. The mystery and intrigue held my attention. The dynamic and development of the characters have the story so much depth. It was such an enjoyable audiobook.

LOVED Caleb and Paisley!

Five perfect chaotic stars! Love Me Today by A.L. Jackson was an emotional small-town romance mixed with the perfect touch of steam and suspense! This is book one in Jackson’s new Time River Series, and it did not disappoint. Caleb and Paisley’s journey to HEA was full of spicy twists and gripping turns that kept me captivated from start to finish.

Andi Arndt and Joe Arden narrated this audiobook, and both took listeners on a wild, sexy, and thrilling ride! Andi’s performance of Paisley’s passionate, caring, and devoted persona was portrayed perfectly, warming my heart. Joe conveyed Caleb’s haunted, protective, and determined persona in a captivating performance giving me chills and making me feel all the things! The chemistry between Paisley and Caleb went from simmering to blazing hot and both narrators delivered!

Overall, I loved this book! If you are a fan of a small-town romance with a hot grumpy protective hero, a brave loving reckless angel, a sweet little girl who loves horses, a tortured past, a horse ranch, starting fresh, forced proximity, pinata birthday parties, helpful ranch hands, desk spice, danger, secrets, suspense, a jaw-dropping plot twist, and a HEA will cause the best little riot in your heart, then you will love Paisley and Caleb’s story. I always look forward to more from A.L. Jackson.

Perfect banter, tension, angst, suspense, & heart

Paisley and Caleb meet with a little grocery store parking lot fender bender. When Paisley shows up for her new job to teach a little girl how to ride a horse, she is shocked and not happy to learn that Caleb is her new boss and the little girl’s dad. Caleb is overly protective of the little girl but Paisley refuses to let Caleb’s grumpy attitude get to her and soon develops a bond with the little girl, Evelyn. A bond that Caleb can’t break, he knows Evelyn needs Paisley. When Evelyn needs a new nanny, Paisley steps in and Caleb begins to let Paisley in on his secrets.

This has an emotional impact. I smiled, laughed, swooned, and cried. I felt every bit of the angst and tension.

Caleb and Paisley are the perfect grumpy-sunshine combo. The chemistry between the two was off the charts.

This page-turner has the perfect combination of spice and plot. Throw in some suspense and a twist at the end and it was perfection!!!

The writing and storytelling captured my attention immediately. Everything flowed effortlessly. The development of the different relationships pulled me in. The trust that grew between the three as they formed a family was beautiful.

The banter, tension, angst, and family dynamics make this emotionally and masterfully crafted story a must-read. I loved this protective grumpy hero, fierce heroine, and adorably sweet little girl with a tortured past. If you are a fan of small-town, enemies-to-lovers, close proximity, or grumpy-sunshine and enjoy a dose of mystery, don't pass this one up.

This standalone is the first book in a new series and introduces characters who will have future books. I can’t wait to get them all!!
