Luka-Jhanki, by Darpan Sah, is an anthology of anti-poems! The poet’s works are deeply philosophical and evocatively esoteric in nature, they arouse the listener’s most intense emotions.
Darpan Sah’s poetry guides you only halfway to an ontological understanding of his poems. You will find yourself left alone at the right point of time to ponder the bigger questions of life all by yourself and to interpret each piece of his poetry in your own way. The wide spectrum of subjects that these poems talk about includes nature, love, women’s condition in ancient and contemporary times, and several other taboos.
The poems are in the forms of ghazals, narratives, and even one-liners but culminate evoking the listener’s thought and understanding. They seem to acquire new meaning and newer dimensions when you listen to them at different points of time and in different states of mind.
