Cassandra Arnold has a life that is merely adequate. She works as a nursemaid for two young boys she adores, but their overbearing mother won’t allow her to take the boys outside, which is something Cassandra needs. When her afternoon off leads her to visit an old friend, and she has the opportunity to realize there are ways to ensure her time gardening, she decides to leave her position and move west to marry a stranger.
Cameron Royal has no intention of marrying any time soon. His parents’ marriage was an absolute disaster, and he doesn’t want to risk turning into the type of father he had.
