Furious and heartbroken, the All-Father banishes Loki to Earth for his crime. Loki finds himself in a realm of boxed wine, instant noodles, and some sort of regional performance troupe known as the “Buffalo Bills.” It’s a meager existence, far from Asgard’s grand courts, but he finds his new friend, Brian the Gecko, a much more engaging companion than the sycophants back home. It’s a true meeting of the minds.

Loki is the God of Mischief—but he knows, deep down, that he never truly deserved to stand next to their father’s golden child, Thor, as two true sons of Odin. Yet he cannot endure his exile in peaceful isolation. A Valkyrie—Hel-bent on carrying out her oath to Thor—barges into Loki’s trailer home with his brother’s final words from the beyond: a plea to find a certain Dr. Jane Foster and pass the hammer Mjolnir on to its rightful heir.

While Loki struggles to fulfil his brother’s last request, the far-reaching consequences of his fatal prank return to haunt him. Blinded by grief over those he lost in the chaos wrought by Asgard, Iron Man vows revenge on those who consider themselves gods. Determined to protect Earth from the might of this unpredictable alien power, Stark forges Asgard’s own weaponry into a lethal suit of armor, set on eradicating any tether between their worlds—consequences be damned. When Asgard looks to Loki for salvation, he must answer the question: Am I truly worthy?

The narrator was TOP NOTCH. My goodness. The variation in the voices was amazing.

Loki and Quinn's relationship bring a tenderness to Loki's personality

Simple acts of kindness with no ulterior motivation wrought such intense and joyous transformation to a damaged psyche.

“what If” at its best.

Great story and I can’t wait for more. This timeline tale is very intriguing and makes you want more.

Fantastic book!

Ok, the writing was top notch. I love the what if concept in general, but the book was soooooooo good. Couple that with a fantastic VA. It threw me off hearing the same voice I’ve heard from the Mushoku Tensei light novels, especially since the names didn’t match, but some digging showed me it’s the same guy, just a different alias. I love his work on those novels and once I realized I wasn’t going nuts, I really enjoyed the performance. His range is fantastic and I’m hoping that he gets more work on these kind of books. (Frankly I’d love to hear him tackle some Star Wars books too)

More than just 5 stars on just performance. Totally top notch

Book is solid. I know we’ve seen the Loki redemption story twice before (I’m assuming that’s where it’s going, I’m only about halfway through at the moment), it this manages to be unique in its own way without treading the exact same ground, and not feeling as rushed as it did in Loki season 1.

Superb amd awesome acting

The other reviewer said it best and the different and variation avoidances done by the narrator are stunning and add nuance to the characters that could have been underdeveloped or missed altogether. When the characters are sad or grieving u can hear the throat tighten almost and u know it just as u can hear the smile on their faces during the joyous times as well. *If that makes sense lol
