Acerca de esta escucha
I flopped on the beanbag next to her. I felt happy. Iz and me. Me and Iz talking about stuff and Iz predicting my future. "What does it say, Madam Rose?" "Oh interesting," Iz murmured. "Very interesting, The card that crosses you is the Wheel of Fortune. It signifies a new chapter. A turning point." But a turning point is exactly what Lucy does NOT want.
Everything is changing around her, and suddenly she is required to make all sorts of decisions. Everyone else knows who and what they want to be except her. Izzy has become friends with the glamorous Nesta and Lucy isn't certain she likes this new threesome. Nesta and Izzy look 16, but Lucy, at 14, can easily pass for a 12-year-old. But then the day Lucy sees the most wonderful boy crossing the street, things start to change – in all areas of her life.

Narrator Amanda Hulme's voice is brisk and youthful, and as protagonist Lucy Lovering, she evokes an authentic teenager's voice with its blend of dryness, hope, and insecurity. Too many things are changing in Lucy's life: everyone seems to know who and what they want to be except her, her best friend Izzie is becoming too close to glamorous new girl in school Nesta, and while her friends can pass for 16, Lucy still looks 12 - even though she's already 14. Hulme also gets the distinctive cadence of teen conversation, and her rendition of the obnoxious tones of Lucy's brothers will have listeners smiling in recognition.
