Henpecked & Magpie Coming To American

I love Lady C and her open assessment of this very spoiled couple, however as an American, I feel she lumps all the wonderful, hardworking, average Americans as obsessed with “woke” Hollywood personalities. Most are definitely NOT. If Henpecked had not been the very spoiled man-child he is, perhaps the Royals would have treated him from the beginning, like any other traitor but they allowed him to live life as the spoiled weak man-child. He married his perfect match and he has a new “Mama”. Other than that, I really enjoyed the book. :)

Interesting

Loved the reading by Lucinda Bell Howard. The book's narrative was a bit long on supposition on the outcomes of their actions but it was informative overall. The depiction of ALL Americans, is just silly. ALL Americans are not crass, and ALL Royals are not "royal" as evidenced in Harry behavior at the Lion King. Also, all Americans are not enamored with Meghan and Harry. Actually, I don't know anyone that thinks very highly of them, but I do not live in Hollywood. Perhaps they are adored, but in light of the ridiculously low amount of $50K they raised in the past year for Archewell, my guess is not so much.

Lady Campbell is no one's fool

Lady Colin Campbell pulls no punches. She is a critical thinker with a long and experienced life of rational observations to call upon. She is impervious to the modern day silliness and shallowness of the titillating world of celebrity. She's got Harry and Megan figured out. Excellent book.

Great

Overall a great listen. I do think she’s fair with them. However, she doesn’t really get how most of Americans feel or think. She seems the think that La and New York represent all of America.

Very Astute Appraisal of Meghan and Harry

Lady C is a master wordsmith and this was a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining analysis of the Meghan-Harry relationship. Top-notch narrator!

Very credible and complete

Loved it once I got used to the narrator's accent. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent book that unravels questions and gossip, exposing the lies, and machinations of the loathsome duo, Harry and Meghan.

Everything that i read that was supposed to be new details about the royal feud was all stuff I had already read

Great story and insight from non-biased viewpoint

Love that it was narrated by a British accent - and someone that has pause where pause is due. The story is told from a viewpoint on the “inside” of the British aristocracy. Very insightful regarding the differences in perception from here vs across the pond and how the media plays to each audience in such a different way. Sad commentary on Meghan as an American who sounds more like a bill in a China shop than someone who was truly interested in the monarchy - she seemingly is interested in what the “fame” could bring her in monetary terms. The depiction of Harry is thorough and at the same time pity worthy and sad. He was destined to be “taken advantage of” in his mental state and is more often true than not, turned his back in the people who truly care for him for his new wife. He had no direction and she provided one.

Very thorough and balanced

This was really enlightening. I appreciated the direct approach and the inner-circle perspective that Lady Colin Campbell provides. Very helpful as people are grappling with the Sussex situation.
