I can think of nothing worse than getting to the end of life and realizing I didn't live up to my full potential - that I could have lived a more complete life with all the impact God always intended. 1 Corinthians 9:24 tells us to each run the race set out before us, to get after it regardless of the obstacles we'll face in this world. This verse has a more personal and powerful meaning than you may realize. The stories within this book, most with Uganda as the backdrop, are intended to inspire and move you into action as you run this life's race, often against overwhelming odds.

In November 2014, 13 members of the Biden family gathered on Nantucket for Thanksgiving, a tradition they had been celebrating for the past 40 years; it was the one constant in what had become a hectic, scrutinized, and overscheduled life. The Thanksgiving holiday was a much-needed respite, a time to connect, a time to reflect on what the year had brought, and what the future might hold. But this year felt different from all those that had come before.

Historia
In 2018, 34 people were shot at a high school in Parkland, Florida. Jaime Guttenberg, a 14-year-old, was the second to last victim. That she and so many of her fellow students were struck down in cold blood galvanized many to action, including Jaime's father, Fred, who has become an activist dedicated to passing common-sense gun-safety legislation. This book is not about gun safety or Parkland. Instead, it tells the story of Fred Guttenberg's journey since Jaime's death and how he has been able to get through the worst of times thanks to the kindness and compassion of others.

A Must Read! Emotional and Captivating
I enjoyed listening to this book. It was informative, humble and very emotional due to the subject of 9/11. The author handled the subject matter very respectfully. The narrator kept my attention as he spoke clearly at a good pace and had a nice tone to his voice. This gives you a first hand peek into the life/lives of the author and coworkers who unselfishly sacrificed their lives to help others. I also loved how good character, integrity and faith in God are woven throughout this story. At the end, it forces you to think about who you are and how you are living in this world.
