Meeting the family is scary. Surviving them is a nightmare.

Connie can't deny she's nervous about meeting her boyfriend's family. Spending the weekend at their ritzy woodland summer home, Evan's already given her fair warning that his parents are cold, snobbish, and especially unpleasant toward those outside their usual social circles.

So when Evan's mother warmly greets them with open arms, Connie is as confused as he is. Evan's parents are nothing like he described. They're so friendly, in fact, Evan himself can hardly believe they're real.

Then, while helping Evan's mother with dinner preparations Connie overhears strange noises coming from the basement—what almost sounds like voices calling out for help.

Connie doesn't realize that once the door is opened, it can't be closed. Or that once she descends those rickety steps into the darkness below... she may never see the light of day again.

From horror author Abe Moss comes a relentlessly fast-paced supernatural nightmare that will have you listening late into the night and afraid to turn out the lights long after you're done.

This was a unique storyline, and I went into it after reading some mixed reviews. It is most definitely not for everyone, but I really liked it.

Other than the ending!!!

4.0 stars that could have been higher with a better ending that didn't leave so many unanswered questions.

Great listen for the season!

"Morsels" by Abe Moss turned out to be a really enjoyable surprise. The story was compact, creepy, and paced in a way that kept me engaged from start to finish-fun, unsettling, and easy to sink into. Candace Fitzgerald's narration was solid and fit the atmosphere well, adding an extra layer of tension where it counted. While it didn't land every emotional beat, her clear, steady delivery and smooth transitions between tones enhanced the overall experience. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys short, eerie fiction with a memorable vibe.

Short, sweet and creepy!

Morsels by Abe Moss is a deliciously dark novel that serves up a giant bite of terror with a wicked sense of humor. The novel delivers one chilling twist after another, but what sets the book apart is Moss’s ability to balance the macabre with moments of levity. The writing is sharp, fast-paced, and never overstays its welcome—Morsels keeps you guessing the whole way through, backed by an outstanding performance by Candace Fitzgerald. If you like your scares with a side of wit, this is one you won’t want to miss.

Such a great and original story! I couldn’t stop listening to it. The ending was not expected but it closed out the story perfectly.

Heart pounding
