charming

first time reading either of these authors, and I really enjoyed the book. These characters were well developed and easy to love. Each having their own set of heartache and issues, each healing the other. I am a huge mountain man/hermit theme lover. I live for those heroes. This one had a twist. instead of the h getting stranded with him, he goes to her in the real world. The only thing able to force him from his solitude? Her safety. And with another twist, he doesn't go as himself, not wanting the h to know that the drifter helping her with her bookstore, is also the man she spoke with once a week, bonding over their love of fiction (escape). This is a must read for me. It has all the small town favorites, crazy old women, trouble maker, best friend, really fat cat, and 1 stuffed raven with 1 googly eye. Highly recommend.

This book has that hometown drama, down home feel with the romance and happy ending!

Full of feels ❤️

I've owned this title for quite a while and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to listen to it. Both voice actors did a wonderful job. By the end of this story I was practically sobbing. Both MCs were suffering but ended up helping each other. There was a good mystery that threaded throughout the story and I was a little surprised when all was revealed. I hope to move on to the next book soon.

Great start to a new series!

I found parts to be very relatable. Interesting story. At times the characters made questionable choices, but that's life. Lots of spice. Lots of potential. Enough to keep me interested in the series. Great narration.

Realistic and interesting archetypes

The characters are very relatable and interesting. The performance between the two actors was awesome. I however was not expecting this to be a smut piece. Great story outside of those bits.

Good, but a bit rambling

Story started out interesting and engaging but lost itself along the way. I enjoyed the female narrator but not the male one as much. Felt he overplayed it.

Great story

I really appreciate a book that will keep you up nearly all night. This book did that and more as it wraps you into the story and keep you there until the very end.

A fun, quirky story

I really liked the story, setting, chronic illness and mental health rep, the town dramatics, and the side characters. Both narrators were wonderful as themselves, but I think the male narrator speaking as the FMC during dialogue in his chapters made the female character seem a bit...air-headed. Which is more a comment on production than his performance. I really loved the narration other than that.

I was not expecting how wonderful this was!

This was a real surprise for me, especially with it being in the plus catalog!! It's emotional, the characters are well-developed and relatable, and it's surprisingly sweet and romantic, and plenty steamy once they FINALLY get to that part, haha. I was not expecting this story at all, but it hit me in the feels. As someone who also suffers with chronic pain, I hardcore connected with the FMC. The only real complaint I have, which is an extremely common issue in so many novels, is too much manufactured emotional drama. Like, yeah, I understand you have issues, but you also have logic, and I wish the characters would rely on that more and not drag out the separations just to be dramatic. But, even still, this was a really great read, very sweet, and I really enjoyed it! There are a few lines in it that had me literally laughing out loud because I related to it so strongly. Something like, "she has a very lax philosophy on leftovers, she follows the 24 hour rule...if it's been in the fridge for more than 24 hours, it's fair game." This is soooooo me, haha, and these little quips kept me rolling!

Nevermore Bookstore!

This was a wonderful audiobook. i loved the characters and the interesting storyline! A woman who inherited a bookstore and a man damaged by life. Can they help each other? Lots of funny moments and some tears! Very good narration.
