love, love, love

I’m one of those “Has Ray Porter released a new book today” kind of people. I will devour every single Porter book, good or bad. This one happens to be in the good category. I’d even say pretty great. I’d actually read both of these authors before (well, listened to) and it was fun to see them together.

Highly recommended.

Porter kills another one

Got this title due to a BOGO sale because it sounded interesting and i love Ray Porter. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the story flowed and the characters were developed and Ray Porter doing the voice acting was definitely a boon on top of everything else. A very nice under rated gem of science fiction. Highly recommend to fans of the genre!

Slow start, great finish!

The plot builds like a fire: a flame, smoking embers, then rolling burn. Highly recommend

At first, the separate character story lines were hard to follow, but when I decided to treat them like what they were--separate story arcs that arrive at the same point--it made it easier to follow and more enjoyable. If you liked the Terminator movies and/or Chris Fox's Deathless series, you'll like this book.

this book was awesome

another series I seem to be locked into it. worth every credit. I loved it.

Good story

This book was well written and I enjoyed the concept of life after an overwhelming alien invasion. The ways the various characters found ways to survive seems pretty realistic and I liked the way that people from vastly different situations came together to achieve their goals. I did have a hard time dealing with the repeated killings of animals, though. Yes, I am aware that many people hunt and in a post invasion world they would need the food... but it's not really something I will ever enjoy hearing about over and over again. I started fast forwarding past captured animal and field dressing scenes so I could enjoy the story.

it started off slow but I kept listening and it got better and better as the story went on and I'm glad I finished it looking forward to book two thank you

You know how much you enjoyed the story when upon finishing it you go directly out to find Book 2. I want to know what happens to the earth and the interesting cast of characters we have met in this post apocalyptic world,
