Wish the story had focused on the house and its occupants rather than the police. They were far more interesting than the DI and police crew.

Hayley Atwell Could Read a Grocery Receipt and I’d Love it!

I’ve listened to dozens of this authors, books, but I don’t know what she did to get this actress to narrate this particular book, but she struck gold! The story is OK, but with Hayley Atwell narrating it makes all the difference. Engaging, entertaining, worth every minute!

Liked this new DI

This was a pretty good new DI story from Joy Ellis.
I was surprised at how emotional the main character was in regards to the stalking. Yes, I get it is scary and unsettling but throwing out evidence from the stalker when you are a DI seemed unlikely.
Good twist in the story and lots of interesting situations.

Kinda rote. No plot twists. Very linear and this author is usually awesome. This was a skip for me.

Concise. Not a lot filler crap

Got right to the point. Not a lot extracurricular crap. And finally a uk police procedural where no one hides things. Can’t recall titles or characters but so many have a main character that keeps secrets, her or his colleagues are at a distance and no one know much anyone else. I would definitely listen to more in this series I am unfamiliar with the audio actor but she did an excellent job

Another hit for Joy Ellis!

It is rare to find an author who guarantees there will be thrills from beginning to end in their work, and Joy Ellis is one of them! All her series are marvellous, and by having a recognizable name like Hayley Atwell serve as the narrator, this title was a true treat. I cannot wait for more Kate Carter!

Crackiin' good yarn

Dejavu- as I listened to this book it reminded me of a movie seen a few ago years . The big old
spooky housen- not so
much. And the scene
where staff urge rhe
posse to take torchs as they head out.... is this
a medieval reference to
villagers chasing around
with real torches? This
was a lot of fun to
listen too. thanks. Ms Ellis and Audible. I really like catching
Brisiisms - though in this
book I've heard no one
use fortnight. A good myster.

Fine, Just Boring

Not poorly written or narrated, but terribly boring. I think I just went into this book with expectations that it was going to be more "thrilling". So, if you lower your expectations you might enjoy this book, or at least pass the time with it.

Excellent shorter story

This one wasn’t the best I’ve read written by Joy Ellis.
But I was definitely hooked. It kept me engaged and participating in the story.
Our narrator was excellent.
I wish the story had been longer. But I’m glad I listened.
