Resumen del Editor

Relocating to Israel is bound to be an unforgettable adventure for 11-year-old Megan, 8-year-old Noah, and their little sister, Elise. But a whole new country, backwards-written language, and leaving everything they’ve ever known? Should they be excited or terrified?

While their dad starts his new job and their mom works out the details of the clinical trial for Elise who has Cerebral Palsy, Megan and Noah explore a nearby tunnel – discovering magic and cryptic messages. Noah's excited about the amazing flips he can do, while Megan is certain the magic must be an incredible opportunity - but for what?

A magical journey to the Middle East!

Review from a 6yo: I like the part in the chapter called "Exciting News" when Megan is talking about possibly getting a puppy, it was really fun to listen to! I want to watch the same amount of movies that Megan watched on the airplane to Israel but my parents would never let me! I don't believe that Megan was waiting at the carousel for 600 hours, I think that she was just standing there for a long time. The last time I went to Israel I don't remember it being hot, but my mom tells me I don't know what I'm talking about. I am also learning Hebrew with a tutor until I go to Israel again. I'm going to live in Israel next year. Does Jerusalem really look like gold during sunset? I have no idea if it does. Chocolate milk and croissants are not too sweet for me for breakfast, I love unhealthy food. My mom and Megan's mom made a deal and she would probably not give us croissants and chocolate milk for breakfast. I'm not like Elise because I do not want to dance or be a ballerina, I am more like a Noah because I don't really like pink. I also follow my brother when his friends are over. I like this book so much that I've listened to the audiobook at least five times and I want to listen to it again!

Review from a Mom: Rachel Imbar's book Orange Sparkles has really engaged my kids. The story is light and really fun. The setting is in Israel, a place where other literature becomes about the politics of the land; in Orange Sparkles none of that comes to the forefront. It's about three kids and their adventures in a magic tunnel. You get a glimpse of Israeli culture through a child's eyes, for example you hear about the amazing ice cream cones that are covered with chocolate on the inside and the falafel. We got to learn that an Israeli school day is much shorter than a school day in the United States. We learned what after school programs are called. I loved that my kids got to learn on the surface level about kids with cerebral palsy. We learned about a new culture and kids who are different all in one book.

Today we started reading Blue Sparkles and we already are excited to see what happens!

Such a darling heart warming story!

Wow this was more than I expected. I am thrilled with the authors writing and creativity! I am an adult and I loved this story. I definitely will show it to all the children in my family. Sometimes we all need to believe in magic. The author is very good at story telling. Do yourself a favor and buy this book!!
