Resumen del Editor

In this deeply personal and compelling story, I will share my unique journey from criminal to cybersecurity professional. My story begins with a family history of outlaws, explores the years I was involved in organized crime, and follows my transformation and redemption to where I am now.

Over the past two decades, I have transformed my life, distancing myself from crime to become an educator, communicator, and an honest social engineer. My transition to cybersecurity was a natural progression, as my checkered background provided me with a unique perspective and real-world experience as a threat actor.

Outlaw Summer

"Outlaw Summer" by Eddie Miro is a compelling biography of a shady figure turned virtuous. The unique format, with interviews between sections, adds depth and keeps readers engaged. Initially unsure about this structure, I quickly found it enriching and wished I could ask my own questions.

Miro masterfully balances sharing his past without directly admitting to specific crimes, maintaining an air of mystery while conveying his deep understanding of the criminal world. His storytelling is raw and authentic, painting a vivid picture of transformation and resilience.

This book is a must-read, not just for true crime enthusiasts but for anyone who believes in the power of change. "Outlaw Summer" is a captivating journey of a young man's quest for survival and the redemption he continues to work for to this day. My only critique is that I want your version of the Odyssey and this is the cliff notes.

From Criminal to Conference Speaker

Disclaimer: I am the editor of the print version of this book. Although I helped with the written text, Eddie did a great job with the audiobook. I really liked how he added interviews between the chapters. These interviews definitely add context and insight to his journey. An enjoyable listen for anyone in the cybersecurity space or anyone looking for an inspiration to do great things. No matter your start or background, you can always make a positive difference.
