Resumen del Editor
New York Times best-selling author David A. Stockman is the ultimate Washington insider turned iconoclast. He sounded the alarm on US deficit spending and special interest domination of both parties in the Triumph of Politics (1986); warned in The Great Deformation (2013) about massive public and private debt and the Fed's unhinged money printing and bailouts; and exposed the imperiled American economic dream in Trumped! (2016).
Now in Peak Trump: The Undrainable Swamp and the Fantasy of MAGA, he debunks Trump-O-Nomics and the perils of Washington's addiction to perpetual wars. Stockman says Trump is headed for a great big fall from the imminent crash of a 30-year financial bubble, which he condemned on the campaign trail, but foolishly embraced once in office: "The Donald is not remotely the force of nature he's been made to seem by the Trump-obsessed media. To the contrary, he's actually a political flyweight, megalomaniacal incompetent, and bile-ridden bully who stumbled into the Oval Office against all odds; and then lucked-out a second time - bragging about the last gasp of a failing business cycle expansion that had 'recession ahead' written all over its forehead".
Stockman says the Great Disrupter's lasting contribution will be to discredit "Imperial Washington's self-serving bipartisan consensus in favor of permanent war, unchained entitlements, fiscal incontinence, debt-fueled consumer spending, rampant corporate financial engineering and endless bubble inflations at the Fed."
Stockman warns "the twin fiscal menace of the Warfare State and Welfare State" will be Trump's undoing. After taking the $2 trillion per year of uncontrolled entitlements off the table, Trump "then added insult to injury via his unfunded $1.7 trillion tax cut and massive defense and domestic spending increases. The result was a guaranteed $20 trillion explosion of the Federal debt over the coming decade."

When two Stanford graduate students set out to create a new kind of cigarette that wouldn’t kill them, they didn’t foresee all the obstacles that lay ahead — or the powerful forces their invention would unleash. Nearly 10 years after the launch of the JUUL, Backfired: The Vaping Wars asks: Could e-cigarettes have been the solution to one of the world’s most pressing public health problems—or was this technology doomed to introduce a whole new generation to nicotine, and end up perpetuating an intractable addiction?

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

In weeks after the September 11 attacks, 18-year-old Mansoor Adayfi was kidnapped by Afghan militia and sold to US forces for bounty money. After months of interrogations, he was sent to the US military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, as one of its first prisoners. Like the nearly 800 other men imprisoned at Guantanamo, Adayfi didn’t know why he was imprisoned or for how long. He had never seen a skyscraper and couldn’t imagine what the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center looked like, much less how they were destroyed.

Historia
The history of the tablets translated in the following book is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years. The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country. He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.

Book tries to answer the biggest world questions
This book looks at many of todays biggest questions from a new direction and from an economical view. Since the only field me and Stockman (author) have in common is economy I believe the economical information is interesting and not too stretched. In short Stockman gives a lot of numbers about our national trillion dollar debt, explains how unfortunate it is since many baby boomers will not be able to get their pension they have worked hard for and many other economical dilemmas of today. The book goes into many other fields such as politics (NATO, Russia, deep state, immigration, guns and drugs), history (Madison. Wilson, Hoover, Roosevelt, Nixon, Carter and Reagan) and global warming. Like any book this feels like a political light illuminating what the author wants us to see. It also felt a little technical and perhaps a little cold at times. Most importantly the author is shining the light on very big and important questions with huge courage and originality that is rarely seen if ever. If you buy this book you should buckle up.

Timeless.
David Stockman is a fearless writer and an unstoppable thinker. He does not hesitate to aim his ideological gun at both sides of the political discourse and shoot them both. His arguments are always a knockout punch to the heart of the issue while his knowledge and historical background is vast and deep. I've seen him on interviews, that's how I discovered him, but hearing his written thoughts is far more entertaining. It's a shame that this book did not took off when it was published. And you can quickly tell why it didn't afterwards; some of his economic predictions aged very bad and did not materialize the way he envisioned them due to the masking effect of the 2020 pandemic, despite his correct assessment.
This book is a great continuation of his previous book the "Great Deformation" adding developments and information where the other book stopped during President Obama's reelection.

Decent
Solid analysis. While I’m not so bearish as this, it is interesting to hear nonetheless. A bit emotional, perhaps, but well researched. The author sounds a bit like a short-seller, in some respects, but is certainly an expert. Those who follow the stock market and economy would probably like this one though. The narrator is excellent, although a few key terms are mispronounced.

Stockman is a 'never trumper', so beware
Stockman is a brilliant free-market economist, and well written, but he's also a never Trump-er (that refers to a republican that hates Trump, and likely voted for Hillary). For the purposes of this review, that means, he could well be incapable of being objective about him--and in this case he is. As i listened i kept thinking, stick to economics, David. That's why i'm reading your book. But like many famous and smart people, he seems to think that his opinion on ANY topic is always going to be far superior to any of the opinions of us 'lesser' people. His emotional Trump animosity was pervasive, to the point that it called into question his objectivity on even his economic points. So, he lost credibility with me and i could no longer count on getting the info i came to the book to get.
