Romans 8: 28 (NLT) The life of a missionary involves trials. Most people are not oblivious to the fact that living in another culture contains challenges and difficulties. However, until one has experienced that reality, it is hard to fully understand what it’s like. Our lives have been no exception to trials. We have endured hardships most people never dream of going through, all in just a matter of a few years. From surviving the greatest natural disaster in our lifetime, to multiple miscarriages, to seeing the supernatural provision of God through the death of a child, we want you to share in the journey God has taken us on: a journey of His mighty miracles and amazing power. The purpose of this book is not to show you how hard life is. Instead, it is to glorify God and shows the character of our loving Heavenly Father! We hope that by sharing some of our journey, we will encourage you to endure the life God has called you to, regardless of the difficulties, trials, frustrations, opposition, and even public opinion. We hope this book will challenge you to seek God at a greater level than ever before and experience His goodness and love like you have never known. Whether your calling in life is the role of a missionary or not, the principles of the Kingdom of God apply to the life of every believer. These Kingdom lessons can apply to those of you who live as pastors, teachers, doctors, stay-at-home moms, politicians, lawyers, janitors, or anyone who lives as a child of the King. The lessons we have learned during our journey came from one powerful principle: love. The love of God and loving others the way Jesus commanded us is at the heart of every lesson we have learned. The revelation of God’s love demonstrates how we had the grace to endure life and continue in our calling with perseverance. Someone once told us that we always win if we do not quit. Where do we find the strength to continue in life when everything around us falls apart? Our source has to remain in God and Him alone. We hope that you too will see the love of God and His grace as you hear how He has given us the strength to continue in His calling for our lives without burnout or defeat. Lastly, we want to leave you with this: Don’t compare yourself with us. Don’t feel less about your life if God has called you to walk a different path than ours. We pray that as you read this book, you will find your confidence and strength through our loving Father God. We pray that you receive a challenge to live sold out to advancing the Kingdom of God in your own life.
