Delphus is one of the many worlds within the broader Trigellian Universe.
It is a binary world connected across a parallel continuum.Delphus Alpha is a desperately barren, arid, lightning and hurricane scoured planet that is now over run with dreaded Xanthan hive warriors. There is no water, food or life on Alpha, except the dreaded hive beasts frantically searching for humans to eat. But, that is a story for another time.
Delphus Beta is the mirror opposite - a gentle, pristine, beautifully forested planet with gorgeously tall and majestic mountains. Those who escaped D-Alpha have begun to prosper on D-Beta and to build schools devoted to the spiritual connection the planet offers.
This short story describes his urgent quest to survive the Rite of Passage and not be eaten by the Snow Ape frantically scraping and clawing away the ice wall he is hiding behind. Time is of the essence if only he can make the pentagram work.
