Acerca de esta escucha

"Ours is not the only world!"

A country law officer discovers this in the Ozark Mountains while looking for a teenage girl who was reported to have literally disappeared into thin air while hiking there.

Luke is a shy and reclusive Arkansas constable. Elected as the butt of a joke, he has never done anything to warrant being a law officer. However, when his cousin, Tyler, is implicated in his own girlfriend's disappearance, Luke must become a real lawman. The case would be strange even for a seasoned law officer. Not only did Tyler's girlfriend, Grace, disappear while hiking in the mountains, she literally vanished into thin air as Tyler looked on in disbelief.

Accompanied by a persistent but beautiful reporter, Luke goes up on the mountain to investigate. There he discovers the world is not what mankind believes it is. There is a portal on the mountain to a forgotten, ancient world.

Wormhole To A Savage Land

Yes, the book is precisely what you see above, someone goes through a wormhole to a savage alternate dimension.

But, as luck and writers would have it, the main protagonist has always been fascinated by living as if he were in the stone age. Hunting with a home made bow and making his own stone arrowheads, etc. Funny how that worked out.

We get a lot of "This is my version of paradise - I was born for this!" quickly followed by "I need to escape this world and get back to my own.".
A LOT.
We get it. He is conflicted.

That aside, he storyline is pretty good and gets better the farther you read.

You do get a kitchen sink sort of a feeling as everything is thrown in for, at least, your consideration.
Savage land with prehistoric beasts - check.
Court intrigue - Check.
Love story - check.
Time travel - check.
Nazi's - check.(complete with Nazi super-weapon)
Biblical beings - check (not supernatural mind you).
Ancient advanced technology - check.
Aliens - name checked at least.

Yes, it sounds like I am trashing the book.
But I am not.
I liked it and have already pre-ordered the sequel.
This turned out to be a lot of fun.
I recommend this book if you enjoy Edgar Rice Burroughs style adventures.

Great Story; Title Sucks

Very good inventive plot, once one gets past the title. The narration was better than average, not great. We have our usual hero with the formative angst that seems to be so popular today who trades places getting saved by our usual beautiful kick-ass heroine throughout the story. How and where our hero and heroine perform their derring-do is unique and attention grabbing. It is a first time effort at science fiction that shows much promise. Seriously don't think you will be disappointed.

The book begs for a sequel or series. I almost skipped on this one because of the title, but decided to risk a credit solely based on the rave Amazon reviews.
