In five vignettes about three generations of her African-American family, Woodard paints a vibrant family portrait that is infused with humor, as well as solemnity. The recording is live, as are all L. A. Theatre Works' productions, and the audience's reactions make a wonderful background to Woodard's energetic performance.

I purchased this on cassette a few years ago and thrilled to have it available on Audible. This artist has broad talent - acting, voice, comedy - which is demonstrated in this performance. There is no "downside" to this work so I recommend it 100%.

Loved This Beautiful Work Of Art!

"Dirty South"
In order to relate to Charlayne you would have to walk in her shoes. People that are blindsided to this way of life will enjoy this book. It’s an eye opener.
