Alone, pregnant and running from monsters . . .
I thought I knew what I was signing up for at Prometheus labs. A living wage salary in return for terrible hours, appalling working conditions and the occasional medical trial to give me a nice end of month boost in funds. I never expected to end up pregnant and transported to a completely different world, where gargoyles taunt me, and my life is immeasurably worse.
Until they show up.
Two alpha gargoyles, granite gods of males, along with a gargoyle knight who could charm the birds from the trees. They never expected to find me, and now they're claiming me, and my unborn child for themselves. I'm not ready to surrender anything, but my treacherous body tells me otherwise. It needs the attention of all three gargoyles, over and over again.
But I'm not going to let them take my heart. Gargoyles have destroyed my life, and I have no reason to let them in, no matter they call me 'mate' and make every part of me sing like I belong to them.
I won't give in. And when I have my baby, I'm leaving. Let them try to stop me.
Contains mature themes.

🦸🏼♀️ The Heroine: Andi
Andi thought she was just signing up for fertility trials to chip away at her student loans. A lab tech at Prometheus Labs, she never imagined her signature would become a sentence. When the nausea kicks in, so does the truth: she’s pregnant, and her boss, Dr. Nix, isn’t even human. Worse, he claims ownership of her and her unborn child. Drugged and betrayed, Andi is thrust into a brutal otherworld where gargoyles rule—and not the cuddly kind.
🦸🏻♂️ The Heroes: Sol, Riv, and Oscurr
In the shadowy town of Fang, where the lower world’s misfits gather, we meet Sol and Riv—two alpha gargoyles who defy tradition by being bonded mates. Scarred by human cruelty, they’re healing in their own ways. Sol is the strategist, haunted by a mysterious voice urging him toward conquest. Riv is all heart and fury, his emotions as volatile as his loyalty is fierce.
Then there’s Oscurr, a lone, starving gargoyle fleeing a life of servitude and abuse. He’s traded his roost’s humiliating loincloth for pants (small victories), but trust doesn’t come easy. When Sol and Riv find him drugged and vulnerable, they don’t just save him—they claim him. What begins as rescue becomes something deeper.
📚 Plot Dynamics
While Andi is imprisoned in a cruel gargoyle roost ruled by the sadistic Alkar—who claims to be the father of her child—Sol, Riv, and Oscurr are forging a bond of their own. Their paths converge in a tale that blends survival, vengeance, and the slow, painful rebuilding of trust. The emotional stakes rise as Andi, traumatized and mistrustful, is given the space to heal—and maybe even love again.
🌟 What Soared
• Emotional Patience: The gargoyles don’t rush Andi. After everything she’s endured, they let her come to terms with her new reality on her own terms. That grace felt earned and refreshing.
• Distinct Personalities: Each gargoyle stands out. Oscurr’s vulnerability and trauma are palpable. Sol’s protective intellect anchors the group. Riv’s emotional intensity—his quiet gestures like leaving flowers in Andi’s room—adds a tender, aching layer.
• Found Family Vibes: The trio’s dynamic, especially as they fold Oscurr into their bond, is messy, healing, and deeply compelling.
💔 What Fell Flat
• Too Much MM for My Taste: While I appreciate diverse relationships, the frequency and explicitness of the MM scenes didn’t align with my preferences. The constant internal monologues about bedroom desires felt excessive.
• Delayed Reveal: Sol’s inner voice—clearly a major plot thread—remains a mystery for too long. I wanted breadcrumbs earlier to stay invested in that arc.
🎙️ Narration Notes
Eva Cain delivers a standout performance—natural, emotive, and immersive. Jack Calihan’s deep voice suits the gargoyles well, though it skews a bit older than I prefer for romantic leads. Still, his character differentiation is solid, and the dual narration adds depth to the shifting POVs.
💬 Final Thoughts
This audiobook is a dark, twisty ride through betrayal, trauma, and unexpected bonds. It’s not for the faint of heart—especially if you’re squeamish about morally gray gargoyles or steamy MM dynamics—but if you’re craving a fantasy romance with grit, emotional healing, and a heroine who earns her power, this one might just sink its claws into you.
