Resumen del Editor

Across the country women are being murdered by a killer who leaves no evidence, no fatal wounds, no signs of struggle, and no clues to a motive. They are, truly, perfect crimes. In fact, the only thing that links the victims is the man they all knew: Jack Reacher.

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Reacher is one of the more interesting suspense heroes to come along in a while.” (San Antonio Express News)

“Jack Reacher, the wandering folk hero of Child’s superb line of thrillers faces a baffling puzzle in his latest adventure…a brain-teasing puzzle that gets put together piece by fascinating piece...and a central character with Robin Hood-like integrity and an engagingly eccentric approach to life.” (Publishers Weekly)

“Deeply satisfying...plan to stay up long past bedtime and do some serious hyperventilating toward the end.” (Kirkus Reviews)

Even blind Jack is still faster than you

Running Blind is Lee Child's 4th Jack Reacher installment. Jack is conned into assisting the FBI with a serial murderer going after former military female sexual harassment victims while staying one step ahead of NYC mob activity in the protection racket. Jack also continues to struggle with being tied down with a home and feels torn and trapped between his feelings for Jodie and his preference for few long term commitments.

This time out, Jack is squarely viewed by the FBI as the "bad guy" and must deal with resentment and suspicion. His deductive skills are much in evidence with a complex set of ritualistic murders that are truly baffling. At the same time, his physicality is less pronounced this time out. Jack eventually puts the puzzle together and still ends up on the wrong side of the FBI even while besting their best.

The narration is outstanding with Jonathan McCalin reprising his Reacher role while delivering a solid range of voices. Pacing and mood are perfect for Jack Reacher.

One of the best

I love Jack Reacher, and I love Lee Child for bringing him to life. This was just another in the long line of great stories! I've seen the movies and hope the Lee can have more made.

You won't see it coming!

My wife and I listened every chance we got. And it kept us guessing. #Braintraser

Decent 4th book!

I felt this book was better than trip wire but not by much. None have come close to the first two.

Love me some Reacher

another great Reacher story. There is just something about that man.
The narrator of the story was the wrong voice. Women sounded nasal.
Could have sworn I heard some Cagney in there.

FB Who?

Ok I've had to deal with some federal types in my career and most of them don't fit the corner that Lee Child tries painting the FBI into in this book. I can think of three specifically though that could be exact copies of the "moron" feds in this book, but they are all desk jockies that never would have a case this big. I would never call any of the feds I've dealt with "over-bright", but never this stupid and never this crooked. And even though I know the chances of Lee Child ever reading this are slim, just a heads up. Someone that stupid and crooked, would have a very hard time climbing the ranks in law enforcement. You might end up with one, but a whole department of them? No. Most of your problems are either stupid OR crooked. The stupid ones are usually straight arrows and the crooked ones are usually wicked smart. Both find their way to the top but never do you have the trifecta of stupid, crooked, and all powerful. That was my only complaint with the book and the only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5. Child held true to his story and really did a good job of filling it out to give you a lot of differant suspects.

Again J. McClain does a good job as Jack Reacher, but he just doesn't do a great job. To get this up to 5 stars would require Dick Hill.

Good story

I liked the book. It was fast moving and very interesting. The narrator is good and kept a good pace. I'm getting the next one to compare Dick Hill to this narrator.

Very good mistery... BUT the ending sucked!!!

The ending seems VERY unrealistic. The FBI would blackmail a consultant in a serial murder case!?!? …. with an FBI agent witness!?! … to coverup a deranged serial killer FBI agent?!! I DON'T THINK SO... Child did such a great job with the story, the mystery and then screws up with a foolish, ridiculous ending... Child's is better than this...
