DYING FOR THE NEXT BOOKS!!

I honestly finished this series and nearly started it all over again! Thats how amazing this story is!! I haven’t started a series over since twilight in my early 20’s (when all I had for those books were paperbacks! Haha) anyway- Troy Duran is just incredible! The female narrator is dynamite as well! And the storyline! Omg after writing this review I may just need to start listening at book one all over again anyway because seriously it’s just that amazing!

Excited for book 9

Loved all other book 1-8 waiting not patently. Can’t wait to hear the end.

I HATED Mari this book. I had to take multiple breaks because of that, but the overall story was amazing as usual.

Need the last two on Audible NOW!!!

Oh. My. God. I’m freaking out!! The last two books aren’t on audible yet!! I could read them, but I’ve gotten so used to the awesome narrators that it just won’t be the same!! I hope the author plans to put them up!! This series is so addictive and I need to know what happens!! This book was the most irritating, with Mariposa (who always said she loved all her men the same) kept putting Shadow ahead of the rest of the men! She acted like she definitely loved him more than the rest. I was getting so sick of it that I put any of their romantic/sexual parts on fast speed just to hurry through them. I hope the last two books change her ways. But the way the book ended had me freaking out!! The Gods are completely messing with them and it isn’t good!!!

Annoying.

Okay, I’m still listening to this book while I write this review. I’m so irritated with Mari wondering why Reaper won’t act like the man she fell in love with. Well when you cut a man’s balls off that’s what you get. She is SOOOOOOOOOO annoying!

BOOK 9 IS THE LAST?!

Don’t do this to me! What’s happening ?! MY BABIES!!! Are ALL my idiots going to be ok?? So good but hate what’s happening but love it. The emotional growth in this book, omg!

I mean NOT bad but not the best

Mari was quite annoying in this book. I get the emotional turmoil and the sense of betrayal she feels but dear gods she was just a childish mess. I LOVE this series and I get that not all of the books will be amazing but this is the one book I struggled to get through.

More twists and turns, great story and emotions

Alright so book 8 is another rollercoaster of emotions, not as gut wrenching as the last 2 I would say, but it's no less tense and dramatic. Reaper has a lot to atone for and to be honest I don't think he should be let off the hook yet completely but I was actually disappointed with Mari's behavior and reactions to him in certain scenes. I know they are all going through stuff and Mari hasn't messed up/thought like that before so that was why it was shocking to me that I wanted to shake her/hit her upside her head to get her head out of her rear end and see that he was trying and not trying to egg him on or kick him when he was down with his tail between his legs. In those cases I was yelling at the recording (while driving) because I was frustrated by her. That I think is my only critique of the book, it just didnt feel like Mari in a couple places but that also opens the door for growth and reconciliation so that makes sense too.

In terms of what the Steel Demons are dealt with in book 8 of 9 of this series, this one keeps you on the edge of your seat with some of the questions finally answered but there is still a ton of unknown left for the last book. We get to learn more about the soldiers under General Tosh and how they aren't normal. I feel for even more characters after listening to this book, despite all the carnage they have caused and the destruction in their wake. It's good to finally get some background on the evil army's dynamic since there were so many question marks and freaky things happening earlier. The SDMC and Four Corners group try their best to 1 up Tosh and they do in some instances but in the end he has some helpers/talents on his side that make it so hard to defeat in the end. We end book 8 on another cliffy with some of the men's lives in the balance. I really enjoy the storyline, it's never boring and really is a great mix of twists and turns.

In terms of the love interests, I love that Shadow is finally embracing what it means to be this family unit with Mari. His brotherly relationship with Jandro and how they mesh in the bedroom with Mari is fire! I also loved seeing Gunner be vulnerable and share some awesome secrets with Mari and some of the guys. OH and the gift Shadow gives Mari made me swoon sooo hard. And the development with Shadow with his gentle Dom side and how cuddly and adorable he is as well, great combo.

What can I say about this narration by Keira and Troy.....5/5 stars, I would give 10 if I could. At 1.4-1.5X speed they are incredible and really do this story justice. I always look for audiobooks that are going to elevate the story they are performing and these narrators do this in spades with the SDMC world. I don't think 2 more perfect narrators could have been chosen. Will definitely be relistening to these in the future they are that good ❤️

So I already started book 9 on audio but I honestly am tempting to stretch it as far as I can, for as long as I can because I am going to be an emotional wreck once this is all said and done. Love this series so much 😊

Looking Forward to Book 9

This book was a lot slower than the other books in the series. I actually was not impressed with Mari in this one. Still good, but i didn’t connect as well as in other books. <3
