Drew me in automatically

I only just started listening yesterday and I’m done already. Each chapter had something that left me asking what’s going to happen next and now I find myself at the end.

Woah!!!

This book had me on the edge of my seat!!! It was much more then I expected! Love the narrations 🖤

Okay overall but I rolled my eyes a lot

Elena is so in denial throughout most of the book about who the people really are around her. She doesn't think first, she just acts. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes at certain parts. The story was okay overall I just wish she was a stronger woman sooner. Julian should have been honest with Elena and some of the nonsense could have been avoided. Julian got on my nerves when it came to Marie. Just because someone is the help doesn't mean you treat them like trash. It ended with a HEA, but I'm not sure I'll read book 2 or 3.

Elena's father sold her to Julian for $10 million and she became his obsession. Clearly Elena was very young and naive and she could be very annoying at times. She did not grow a backbone until near the end of the book. There is more than one betrayer in this story. I am looking forward to the next book. The book held my attention to find out what Julian and her father would do next. Alastair Haynesbridge and Samantha Summers did a great job with the narration.

Really good story, but...

I found the level of violence too much. I struggled to find redeeming qualities in Julian strong enough to have the readers/listeners overcome the sociopath the author paints him as. How could anyone love this monster or believe he wasn't vacant of a soul. I couldn't believe he could be capable of even grasping love. He was just a very unlikable villain.

I couldn't get past the over the top characters both Julian and Elana's father were supposed to be. It was too much a stretch to find either male character someone I hoped would prevail in the end.

Perhaps you may show more glimpses of someone who didn't murder as the first option...hmm? I get the mafia isn't sunshine and butterflies, but Elana seems stupid, not naive and her father and Julian are both vile.

this book was different. how dumb is this girl. she knows how Julian works. yet she just keeps on messing up. I was disappointed in this story. not a traditional mafia story. on a scale I'd say 4

Story was great for dark romance but….

The female narrator ruined a lot
Of the story for me. The had to force myself to keep listening to the beginning bc I wanted to stop two mins in because of how robotic she sounded and the pausing and stopping between words was horrendous the male was fantastic wish it was all read by him bc she was terrible I wanted to listen to the other two in the set but I am debating bc I don’t no if I can handle any more of her narration smh 🤦‍♀️

Female voice

The female actress in this is mind numbingly frustrating! The halting way she speaks drove me crazy! Otherwise the story was pretty good!

Good for duel narration

Sometimes when I found fault with the narration, I wondered if it was the story driving the cringe feeling I got. Too many plot holes for me and not a fan of ignorant or non-listening FMCs. It was a good one to pass time with. I did enjoy the narration mostly.

Too much

Just too much…… and the female narrator sounds like a robot at times. Was glad when it was finally over
