Una novella al giorno, per tutt'un anno, senza che dai giorni, dai mesi o dalle stagioni nessuna abbia tratta la sua qualità: questa è "l'Avvertenza" che Luigi Pirandello introdusse alle sue "Novelle per un anno", l'opera che progettò nel 1922 (ma che non riuscì a portare a completezza: anziché 365 novelle ne pubblicò circa 250, suddivise in quindici volumi e un Appendice) con l'intento di riorganizzare tutta la produzione novellistica e inserire i suoi racconti in un'unica opera.
Minimiteatri, che dal 2005 riunisce personalità artistiche provenienti da diversi ambienti (Musica, Teatro, Università, Accademie dell'Arte...) ha selezionato alcuni fra i più bei racconti che compongono le "Novelle per un anno" e ne ha affidato la lettura ad attori e Narratori professionisti che, pur nella più coerente fedeltà al testo Pirandelliano, ne fanno sprigionare, tramite la loro interpretazione, calore, intenzioni e sentimenti. Ecco allora una selezione di tre racconti tratti da "Scialle nero", il primo dei dodici volumi che compongono le "Novelle per un anno".
Il racconto "Scialle nero", che dà il titolo al I volume, spiega come Eleonora Bandi, stimata e attempata signorina quarantenne che ha sacrificato tutta la propria esistenza a "tirar su" fino alla laurea il fratellino e un suo amico orfano, venga travolta da un tragico destino lasciandosi sedurre da un maldestro ragazzotto di campagna.
Nel racconto "Il tabernacolo", il muratore capomastro Spatolino, gran lavoratore, onesto padre di famiglia e uomo dalla vivissima Fede, perde tutto ciò che ha (la famiglia, il lavoro, la fede) nella costruzione di un tabernacolo commisionatagli da un vecchio avvocato usuraio, e finisce i suoi giorni richiuso nel suo stesso tabernacolo, parato da "Cristo alla colonna".
"E due!" racconta la vicenda di Diego Bronner, che a soli ventisei anni si ritrova la vita rovinata da un errore di gioventù che gli è costato tra anni di carcere. Finalmente libero, dopo aver espiato la propria colpa, una sera passeggiando lungo il fiume assiste al suicidio di uno sconosciuto che si butta giù dal ponte, e questa visione lo trascina a riconsiderare tutta la propria esistenza.
